Hello! My name is Ani, and I am a pianist with over 20 years of experience in music and more than 5 years of teaching. I hold a Bachelor’s degree and am currently completing my Master’s degree in Piano Performance at Tbilisi State Conservatoire, while also studying at Ingesund College of Music in Sweden on a full EU scholarship.

As a performer, I have won top prizes at international competitions in Georgia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan, and have participated in masterclasses with world-renowned pianists such as Noriko Ogawa, Pascal Nemirovsky, and Cyprien Katsaris.

As a teacher, I have worked with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced pianists preparing for competitions. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs: some want to enjoy music as a hobby, while others aim for structured progress. I teach for all levels, from children starting from zero to students who want to prepare certifications at the Conservatories, passing through amateurs or simply curious of any age.

I firmly believe in the importance of knowing how to read music and this is exactly what I teach first, obviously adapting the method to the age of my students: knowing how to read music is knowing one more language, which, if learned well, won’t ever be forgotten (like riding a bicycle!) and it is an invaluable wealth. The theory of everything tends to be really scary and music theory can be too. I am very keen to make music theory easy for everyone. For some people there is only one way to tackle the unmentionable but I believe there are many different approaches and one of them will click with you. It is simply finding out what is best for each person. Once we find the key we can unlock the problems that have puzzled you for ages.

Music theory needs to be more than a requirement, it needs to be the way to really appreciate the music you are playing. Certain aspects can also lead to additional practical skills such as improvisation which can be very useful as well as very enjoyable.

I am a Spanish pianist and composer (MMus graduate from Codarts Rotterdam in both directions) with many years of teaching experience, and also very active in performing in various contexts.
