Being a professional piano teacher and pianist it was very important for me to understand how to make my online piano classes a real good and effective learning experience. My class is fun, easy to grasp and as close as possible to the real live-piano class.
I provide my online students:
- four different camera angles, so that I can explain technique, fingerings and posture.
- great quality sound so that we can work more in depth with the pieces.
- high quality image, so that this whole experience feels more natural and close to the student.
- copies of my remarks that are send directly to my students after class, as well as displaying my remarks on the student`s music sheets in real time.
(If you wish to attend my class in person please see my other class labelled `Klavierunterricht / Piano lessons. All levels are welcome to join.`)
MY TEACHING STYLE:
In my style of teaching, I approach the challenges together with my students, working as a team. This way, the study progress allows for an individual pace while ensuring understanding due to frequent and implicit feedback.
Having fun and learning exemplary pieces are considered as necessary as training technical fundamentals and musical understanding. The entire program is individually composed to meet each student’s interests and needs, so that any level and kind of student is ensured to find a fit.
`` Learning the piano is a fascinating lifelong process. It can be compared to learning a new language from the very beginning, step by step. I love guiding students, who share the same passion with me through this wonderful experience of self-discovery. All levels and ages (6 -100 years old) are welcome to my class``

Extra information
🎶STUDENT - prerequisites to participate in the online class:
I listed below what the student would need to participate in an online class with me. I know that this needs some preparation from your side. But this is the only way to have a professional level of piano class online, when I can see you and hear you properly 😊.
- Internet connection! The most important of all, if we have delays the class would be not enjoyable nor effective. Make sure your internet provider offers you a relatively fast internet speed and use an Ethernet cable that connects your computer directly to the Wi-Fi modem. This little addition would make the internet connection much more stable..
(Tip: please make sure (when possible) that your family members won’t be using Skype or Zoom during your class.)
- Music is about sound! The sound has to be clear when we both play, so that I am able to teach you in depth. Please use a USB mic so that I can hear you best (please contact me if you need help with that). You need to hear me as well, so please do not forget to raise the sound lever on your computer or to even better, plug-in your speakers!
-I have to be able to see part of your body posture, your fingers and your complete keyboard when you are playing (side view is the best for that)...
-Use a laptop or PC with a built-in Camera or an external webcam.
(note: Tablets are suitable only if you set it up correctly (you ll have to find a tablet stand)

About Me
The way I teach is a result of more than 15 years of experience in teaching the piano, my academic training (bachelor and master in Piano and music pedagogy), my experience as an active performer, and most importantly my love and devotion to the joy of music, and desire to share that with others.
In my class, me and my student work as a team. We use a piano method for the class but customize this experience with extra learning material accordingly. The study programs and learning pace are individually crafted to match each student’s needs.
Classical music is ideal for developing pianist skills in the best way possible, but all other kinds of music are absolutely welcome in class. The classes I offer aim in teaching students in depth about music notation, piano playing, and encourage being creative on the piano. Being a Piano Teacher is a valuable part of my personal development as a Musician and an Artist. It is a great pleasure to see my students flourish in their Skills and Creativity!
As a music educator, I led workshops for young kids with a focus on exploring music and physical movement at Frankfurt International School as well as music Workshops for young kids at Oper Frankfurt. Currently, I am teaching private piano students in Frankfurt and online (internationally) and I take part in music performances for kids.
As a pianist I work as a collaborative Artist performing currently in local venues in Frankfurt and its surroundings. I have been giving solo concerts since 2016 in German and Belgian Venues such as STUK and Art Base in Brussels, Petersberg Rathaus in Fulda, studio pompette, and Frankfurtersalon in Frankfurt am Main. Since 2020 I have been performing as an improv pianist (non-jazz style) for musical events and improv theater shows, composing music, and creating as a scriptwriter for music/Theater productions.

The way I teach is the result of more than 15 years of experience teaching piano, my academic training (Bachelor's and Master's degrees in piano and music education), my experience as an active musician, and above all, my love and passion for the joy of music and the desire to share it with others.
In my teaching, I and my students work as a team. We use a piano method for our lessons, but adapt this experience with additional learning material as appropriate. The learning programs and pace are customized to the needs of each individual student.
I teach students of all ages and levels with the same enthusiasm. I am happy to support my students on their journey of developing their skills with the piano and music, whether they want to become professional musicians or learn to play the piano for their personal enjoyment.
THE AIM OF MY PIANO TEACHING
The aim of my teaching is to deepen learning while having fun and enjoying music.
My lessons are about teaching students musical notation, playing the piano and creativity at the piano.
Classical music is ideal for developing a pianist's skills in the best possible way, but all other types of music are also very welcome in my lessons.
REQUIREMENTS
Learning to play the piano requires a love of the instrument, dedication to practice, and regular lessons to expand your skills and deepen your musical understanding.
To be able to take my piano lessons, you must:
- be older than 6 years old
- have a piano (or a keyboard with 88 keys with graded weighting and touch sensitivity) as you will need to practice at home
- an understanding that they need to practice regularly to make progress
- a regular study program
I look forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards
Ioanna
