Welcome! My name is Cláudio, and I am a passionate saxophone teacher with years of experience helping students of all ages and skill levels discover the joy of playing music. Originally from Portugal, I hold a Master’s Degree from Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag and have developed a strong foundation in musical pedagogy through my work in music academies and as a private instructor. I believe that music is for everyone, and my goal is to make learning both enjoyable and rewarding. Each student is unique, so I adapt my teaching approach to match their individual needs, interests, and aspirations. Turkish reed flute is an essential instrument of Turkish Classcial Music. It has a deep and dense culture dating from 13. century around. If you want to learn about how to perform it you first need a teacher educated by masters on this field. As of many teachers you can find online but you make sure that not every tutor meets with traditional style. Solfege and method are inseperable parts of the lessons. So for beginners and intermediate students must follow a compotent tutor to learn about the way of classic form.

I studied at the Royal College of Music in London, during which time I was winner of the Eve Kisch flute prize & was awarded the Allen John Warren prize. I've since performed with orchestras & ensembles in Europe, Norway, Middle East, Hong Kong & Macau. As a teacher I have over 15 years' experience teaching students of all ages - from beginner to advanced level - in preparation for ABRSM exams, or just for fun! I have also previously held teaching positions at some of the UK's leading independent schools, and was visiting instrumental teacher to the Royal Family of Saudia Arabia, in London. I hold a Diploma with Distinction from the ARSM and have been won in several prestigious national and international competitions, including Galway flute festival, British Flute society competition for three years. I have graduated from London Symphony Orchestra. I love playing and creating music, and I am dedicated to helping others to discover the joy of flute. 🎓📜 Master’s degree in Saxophone Performance and Music Pedagogy, Sibelius Academy 2025 🎓📜 Bachelor studies in Saxophone Performance and Music Pedagogy, University of Cologne (Germany) 2022 Diogo is a curious musician, being part of different projects such as the Kaamos Duo (contemporary music for saxophone and soprano singer), chamber music with pianist Lambis Pavlou and Cantus Portugueses (traditional portuguese music with a modern twist). He also plays as a member of the contemporary music groups Korvat Auki and the Nyky Ensemble. His main musical interests at the moment are the collaborations with living composers, chamber music with different ensembles, and interdisciplinary improvisation. Diogo performances have taken place in many venues such as the Philharmonie of Essen, OrchesterZentrum Dortmund, Music Center Helsinki, Turku Castle, Liceu Auditorium Barcelona, Casa da Música do Porto, and many more. Diogo's recognition includes prizes in some international competitions and the recent recognition at the 2022 Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy competition for Contemporary Ensembles and the recent participation at the prestigious Josip Nochta Competition in Zagreb, Croatia. Diogo teaches all saxophones and ensemble playing in Portuguese, Spanish, English and German.
