I am a music educator. From Hong Kong. I can play piano, violin and cello. I play cello in an orchestra and also a piano accompanist. I am a jury in Music Competition in Hong Kong and gains numbers of " Best Teacher Award" . I speak Cantonese, Mandarin and English. I specialize in tutoring beginners. However, I love teaching seniors and advanced players. I have been tutoring for 20 years to the age from 3 to 80. It has been a great time to discuss music with all level of students. Students not only learn technical skills, they will also learn music history, theory, and performance skills. Most of my students took part in competitions and in orchestras.

Learning to play the cello can be a tremendously rewarding hobby, but the cost of lessons often puts it out of reach for many. As an accomplished 15-year-old0 cellist, I’m planning to change that narrative by offering high-quality instruction at a relatively affordable price.

My systematic approach guides students through the fundamentals, from proper bow hold to tuning techniques. I will teach with proven methods like the StringBuilder and Suzuki books, ensuring a solid technical foundation while preserving the inherent fun of the instrument.

With over 7 years of cello experience and a ABRSM Grade 8 Distinction, I possess a deep understanding of the instrument and the ABRSM examination process(and have lots of tips for effective practicing!). I would like to teach students up to Grade 6 ABRSM and work as a coach to help students prepare for their upcoming ABRSM exams(if they desperately need any help). In fact, I am having the honor of performing at the prestigious Carnegie Recital Hall in New York City this summer.

Recognizing the unique learning needs of young students, I'm particularly excited to work with children ages 7-12. My own youthful energy from my young age will create a welcoming environment where students can explore the cello without pressure or intimidation.

With six years of music teaching experience, from conducting school orchestras to private teaching, my main goal is to help my students fall in love with music. My music journey started at the age of 6, later at the age of 13 I began to play the cello and achieved an ATCL diploma from Trinity College of London in 2014, also LTCL in piano in 2015. Graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor of Music in 2019, I participated in the CUHK jazz ensemble from 2016 to 2019 and the Chinese Music Ensemble as the Lead bassist.
