Learn what YOU want to learn - Favourite Songs/ Theory/ Whatever you enjoy most! - Guitar, Ukulele, Piano or Drums, taught online via Zoom.
From 64 £ /h
With over 10 years experience, of teaching between 4 - 85 year old Students, I'm proud to have all this time been teaching Students exactly what they want, and not putting my preferences first. I begin with a new student by discussing their goals and what they want to do with their chosen Instrument, and tailor their tuition to reach this goal, no matter how ambitious or simple. I will 'hide' theory inside what we learn, to not bore students/keep enthusiasm, especially in younger children, to keep a broad range of skills and knowledge, whilst always staying on the topic of the student's personal preference of musical genre. Thank you for reading.

Message me 3 of your favourite songs/artists and I will tailor the lesson with this in mind. I look forward to talking soon!

About Me
I love teaching and it's been a huge part of my life for over the 10 years, I've always taken the view of people learn better when they're happy - So being happy whilst learning really is step one, and I achieve that by asking and teaching the student what they're interested in. My 'trick' is to 'hide' theory/essential techniques in these song choices of the student - It simply makes it more enjoyable, and people remember and want to do things more in positive emotional states. There is also much Science to suggest it is more useful for Memory to teach in this way (as opposed to under pressure/stress/learning something you are not enthused by). 2 recent examples;
A middle-aged man we no past experience wished to learn to play Nylon string Guitar, in the Spanish style of playing, our first ever lesson involved learning the introduction to a Spanish song he had on his 'dream to learn' list, in a version that I had simplified and slow down, which was still true to the original.
A 7-year-old child, with a little past experience, who loves pop Music requested to learn Queen songs - I made a single string (multiple string/chords are hard for beginners) version of 2 Queen songs 'riffs', that we learned part of in our first lesson.
Both students were so happy to get straight into what they wanted to do, that they practiced much more than past students, a student who would be given all the correct music theory and no 'pleasure' in lessons, especially at the start of their playing.
Thank you.
