About Me

My name is Selma, I come from a family of musicians from Valencia, my father wanted to be creative with me and instead of teaching me to play a wind instrument, he introduced me to the Viola, which is the older sister of the Violin that no one knows, how I started my first music classes when I was very little I didn't realize that I was learning to play an instrument that is at first glance like a violin but with a deep sound and warm textures and everyone thinks it is a violin.
So I soon became a protector of this beautiful instrument that is so discriminated against.
My mission: to go around the world playing the Viola to make this wonderful instrument known.
The world of the conservatory was a very long period of my life in which I learned many things and formed a solid foundation as a Performer, but one day I realized that I had no idea what to do with my instrument creatively, without having A sheet of music in front of me with everything I knew left me blank. So I decided to do theater, start learning new artistic codes, explore my body in movement, my voice, and since I didn't begin to integrate the Viola into this process, it was a nice path to experiment and try new stimuli that would enhance my creativity.
There came a time when I needed to go to a modern music school, I am passionate about jazz, the piano as a harmonic tool was a good start and vocal work... Then it was time for me to travel, and I went far away to a place where its music and art is extensive, India, there I began another artistic adventure where I realized that music is truly a universal language, there I learned a lot and discovered much more because not only did I have access to Indian music, but I also had the opportunity to learn from other musicians from other parts of the world, such as the Middle East, Turkey, Greece... In my last years in Europe as well as in my travels in Asia, I have continued to combine my artistic interests with musical education, I love teaching classes and transmitting all my experience in them, creating curiosity and motivation to learn, to experiment, to be creative.

Welcome to my profile!

My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. I work with students of all ages, creating a supportive, creative, and personalized learning environment where each student can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I use a variety of teaching approaches, including Suzuki, ABRSM, Trinity, and Galamian methods, adapting them to each student’s age, personality, and goals.

In my lessons, I also focus on how to practice effectively at home, tackle challenging passages, and prepare confidently for public performances.

I began my musical journey with El Sistema in Venezuela and continued my studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Madrid, specializing in both performance and pedagogy. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE).
