About Me
I focus is on Classical and Early music, but I also perform and teach other types of music like jazz, folklore, and free improvised music among others. I enjoy collaborating with professionals from other performing arts (movement, storytelling...) and I like to include them in my work.

Teaching music is something that inspires me, not only something I do as a job. For me, helping someone discover their voice and musicality is one of the most fulfilling activities.
Education
-Bachelor in recorder with Erik Bosgraaf (Conservatorium van Amsterdam)
-Master in voice with Xenia Meijer (current study in Conservatorium van Amsterdam)
-Masterclasses with teachers like Michael Schneider, David Antich, Rebecca Steward, Malik Mezzadri, Harmen Fraanje, Margreet Honig, Adrián van der Spoel and more.
Experience / Qualifications
Irene Sorozábal is a Spanish recorder player and mezzo-soprano based in Amsterdam. She has performed Early Music and Contemporary music in festivals like Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Amsterdam Fringe Festival, Oerol, and Zücher Theaterspektakel.

She studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam where she obtained her Recorder Bachelor degree in 2018 with Erik Bosgraaf as the main teacher. Currently, she studies Early Music Voice with Xenia Meijer.

Do you want to work on classical repertoire? Do you want to learn songs from around the world or invent your own? do you want to play happy birthday to your best friend with a Cello?

Let's explore together this beautiful instrument with pieces that you like, finding different ways to play one thing, becoming actors on the stage of music... Let's create games to develop creativity and technique, those that will help you to personalise your way of playing.

With music, we learn much more than just playing pieces. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more.
I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know.

What can i offer?
Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music.
Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish
Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello.

How do I work?
Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you.
For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing.
For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument.

Extra activities:
Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. It's very necessary to play with people and not get stuck in our own individual studies!

Do you have doubts or need more information? Don't hesitate to write me a message!

Hey there! If you have been thinking for a while about learning to play, improvise and read music scores on the piano, then this is the sign to start!

My name is Enrique and I come from Andalucía, Spain. I am a Classical Piano student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and I would be pleased to be your teacher. It will be great to teach you how to play your favourite music on the piano, but also about its language, reading and writing, that is, the music theory, or even how to start improvising your own music.

All of this is actually interconnected and it is interesting to combine them in teaching. I adapt to any age, level or taste (you may prefer classical, jazz, pop... everything is welcome!). Lessons can be taught in English or Spanish.

Thanks for your attention! Hope to help you soon ;)

Hey! My name is Daan and I am a keyboard player, producer and songwriter and I am happy to teach piano at your home in Amsterdam.

I graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam pop department and am also very active in bands (as a keyboardist, singer, guitarist, bassist and drummer) and as a producer/songwriter in various genres.

As a teacher, I am mainly concerned with what the student wants to achieve and what can be gotten out of the student. Do you want to learn that one new song by Billie Eilish, or an advanced piece by Stevie Wonder; I can always help you. The great thing about music is that you can learn and perform it at all kinds of levels. My job is to find the right level for the right student, so that progress can be made at the same time as there is fun during the lessons.

In addition, I find it important that my students not only play the piano, but also understand the music and build up a knowledge of the music theory behind the pieces. This has helped me a lot to quickly make big steps as a musician.

You can also contact me if you write songs yourself and maybe even produce them that you want to take to a higher level. I can give you all kinds of tips to get the best out of your own compositions through my experience as a songwriter/producer.

I hope to see you soon!

There are many ways to learn an instrument: individual or group lessons at your local music school, masterclasses, method books, online lessons or video courses, YouTube tutorials, or self-study. While I've learned a lot through all of these methods, nothing beats private lessons with a good teacher. It's inspiring, dynamic, personalised, and you don't have to second-guess yourself because you receive direct feedback.

This course is designed to help you take your guitar playing a step further, no matter your current level. After we've assessed your current level and established your goals, we'll create a personalised lesson plan that will provide you with the know-how you need to take your playing to the next level.

Hey there! Do you want to start a new hobby? Do you already play the piano and you want to improve your skills with a creative approach to the instrument? Then I think I can help you!
I can teach you basic and advanced concepts of any style on the piano (classical, jazz, pop-rock...), and if you like improvisation and jazz then we get along even better!
I offer very personalized classes based on your level and interests. My approach to teaching strongly takes the student's CREATIVITY into account, but without forgetting that a good knowledge of MUSIC THEORY and PIANO TECHNIQUE are essential.

About my philosophy in teaching music:
In a creative field like music, education is a delicate matter. I firmly believe that a teacher must do everything possible to avoid suppressing the student’s personal voice. Each of us — regardless of age or skill level — has a unique approach to music, even before touching the instrument!
My goal is to help students discover their own musical identity at the piano, drawing on my experience and offering a solid theoretical foundation tailored to their interests and level.
That said, as in any discipline, there are no shortcuts in music. Passion and dedication are essential to achieving meaningful results. Furthermore, a solid technical and theoretical foundation is indispensable, no matter your musical interests.
I look forward to sharing my deep passion for music with you. Feel free to reach out for more information!

My lessons are highly flexible and tailored to help each student reach their musical goals as efficiently as possible. Whichever genre of music you want to learn (pop, classical music, rock, metal, jazz, salsa, middle eastern, balkan and other folk music, etc.), I have experience in lots of musical fields and can help in learning how to play bass, the role you play in the band and the theory behind it all.

What can you expect?
- For beginners: Reading notes, sense of rhythm and a playful introduction to the piano.
-For advanced students: Interpretation, expression, expanding repertoire and stage preparation.
- For children: Learning through play, with plenty of room for personal input and imagination.

Music is more than just the right notes; it's a language, an emotion, and a way to express yourself. Whether you're a hyperactive child finding peace at the keyboard, an adult finally wanting to learn that Chopin piece, or a teenager eager to play the latest pop hit: my lessons are for you.

I'm Catherine, a classically trained pianist with a broad repertoire of over 50 pieces, ranging from Chopin and Rachmaninoff to film scores and contemporary pop. My strength lies in conveying the EMOTION of music, not just the technique.

In a world with an increasing number of neurodivergent children—children who think and feel differently—I believe it's crucial to reach them in their own way. Music can spark their creativity and help them feel empowered to make their own choices. Whether you're looking for peace, a challenge, or passion, I'll tailor the lesson to your needs.
