About Me
I have a nurturing and welcoming approach to teaching. I aim to be responsive and present in my classes, recognising the needs of the students in the room. I allow space for students receive my teacher offerings as well as having autonomy over their own practice choices.
I was introduced to Yoga through my Contemporary Dance training, and similarly to many others I was drawn to the movement practice within Yoga. I quickly began to notice the wealth of knowledge that Yoga offers is much greater than physical exercise. I aim to share the benefits of Yogic principles with students so that they are able adopt these concepts throughout many aspects of their life.
My dance training has given me an awareness of the body and alignment that promotes safe and strong physical practice. I also welcome wobbles and 'mistakes'!
I have previously taught Yoga to community groups that exclusively use BSL (British Sign Language). I am deaf myself but use speech to communicate. These classes quickly became my favourite time of the week! I noticed the accessibility issues that many Yoga studios have, and I am open to offering classes that are tailored to individual needs.
