Hello, my name’s Ed! I’m originally from Oxford in the UK, but I currently live in Madrid, Spain. I have been working in the ELT industry since 2014, and have enjoyed experiences as an in-company and online business English teacher, teacher-trainer, materials creator and course designer.
As a teacher, I believe in three core tenets:
1. Linguistic and pedagogical expertise
2. Student-centredness
3. Consistent and constructive feedback
With these core principles in mind, I strive to make my classes engaging, useful and memorable, where learners always gain a reason to remember and retain language, and to return for more.
I am passionate about personal and professional development, and I relish observing progression in my learners. Outside of teaching, I enjoy football, music and travel - let's talk more in class!

About Me
I am an English teacher and trainer from Oxford in the UK. I have over eight years' experience coaching adults in companies and online, especially in marketing, advertising and energy sectors. Across my career, I have designed business materials and courses, prepared students for exams, led CPD sessions, level-tested and onboarded corporate clients, and trained language professionals. Educated at the University of Sheffield, I hold a BA in English Literature, a TEFL, and a soon-to-be DipTESOL. I am passionate about languages and learning, and am determined for my classes to be engaging, useful and memorable.
Beyond teaching, I am a huge football fan and I try to play matches as much as I watch. I’m also a keen traveller, I love going to gigs, and I enjoy UK comedy.
