Oral Health Education - How to Avoid Dental Treatment
From 48 £ /h
If like most people you don’t like visiting the dentist, then this course is for you.
My name is Hamish, I am a dentist based in Scotland. People often ask me what is the best way to AVOID dental treatment. The answer is simple – brush your teeth! Although this sounds straightforward, very few people manage to live their lives without needing some form of dental treatment. This class has been designed to help you maintain excellent oral health from the comfort of your own home.
Oral health education is a routine part any dental appointment – however most people don’t remember the advice they are given as the majority of their appointment is spent lying backwards with their mouth wide open. During this class we will focus on education not examination. This means providing you with “the ideal advice” you need to reduce your risk of dental decay, gum disease and oral cancer. Adhering to this advice will therefore reduce the amount of dental treatment you will need throughout your life.
Participant engagement is essential for this class. You must be keen to interact with the process so that I can assess your existing risk levels and provide you with tailored advice to meet your individual needs. The more you put into this class, the more you will get out of it. For participants below the age of 17 years old it is recommended to attend this class with a parent or guardian to ensure the best chances of success.
Disclaimer: This class is aimed as an adjunct to routine dental examinations. The purpose is education not examination and thus no dental disease will be diagnosed. For diagnosis it is essential you continue to see your dentist for routine dental examinations.

About Me
My name is Hamish, I am a dentist based in Scotland.
Although my job allows me to promote good oral health to all of my patients, it is not always possible to pass on the required information within the confines of their dental appointment. Creating an online class allows time to be dedicated solely to education, where participants have the best chance of achieving oral health from the comfort of their own home.
