African American History has a very specific place in World history and is, furthermore, tied into colonialism and the expression of African culture on the American scale. As America is, largely due to Americanization, the premier export of Black culture on a global scale, the importance of African American culture and history are currently at an all-time high.
The classes provided in this course will revolve around African American history and how it ties into colonialism, the suppression of additional minorities and the expressions of African American culture on a global scale.

About Me
As a teacher, I am passionate and innovative. I teach in an easily understandable English and aim to make my classes as progressive and passionate as possible. I strive to use different elements of culture in which the students can easily relate class materials, to current cultural and political issues. I have experience from teaching at University level and am therefore confident that my teaching abilities will meet the standards of Apprentus.

A cultural analysis of the importance of Barack Obama's Presidency on the racial issues in America, representations of minorities in pop-culture and the shift in racial attitudes regarding a political climate inherently dominated by whiteness. Furthermore offering an additional European outside perspective on the issues at hand.
