English is a core and highly valued subject throughout your time in education. In fact, your verbal and written communications will have an impact on most, if not all, of your other subjects. Therefore it is essential to develop a strong foundation and to consolidate what you are being taught at school at every step of the way. The consequences of Covid and the lockdowns have made it more difficult for students, so I am here to help! My class is here to reduce your stress. I want to make you more confident in the work you produce.
My teaching techniques are centered around you. We will work through anything and everything you feel you are lacking knowledge or technique in. My personal style, and what helped me when I was a student not so long ago, was creating essay plans and maximizing the number of exam questions I did. However, I acknowledge this is not the method for everyone so I will work with you to find revision methods that work for you!

About Me

I would describe myself as a fair teacher, I am not here to increase your stress or put you under any more pressure, I was a student not so long ago! However, that is not to say we won't work hard! I believe in working smartly. You do not need to exhaust yourself to produce good results.

My teaching style is ultimately centered around you For example, there is no value in pushing you towards a revision method that does not positively impact you. This is why I really value your input! I will show you techniques that have proven popular or effective with my previous students, but I will not force these on you. I want you to tell me what you feel you could work on, my classes are safe spaces where no question will be undervalued. We will also work together to identify areas where you lack confidence too.

I have previously worked at Kumon for 2 years, which is a tuition center primarily based around reinforcing Maths and English through repetition. Along with 4 other tutors, we taught children from ages 5 all the way to 16! This has given me the bulk of my experience thus far.
