English, history, and classical studies up to GCSE level
I am an English Literature and Classical Literature and Civilisation student at the University of Birmingham, looking to tutor in English Literature, History, or Classical Civilisation up to GCSE. I can teach any aspect of English Literature and Classical Studies up to this level, and can teach the following areas of history: the Tudors (from Henry VII to Elizabeth I); American history from the invention of the cotton gin in 1793 through to the death of Martin Luther King in 1968; the First World War; and international relations during the Cold War.
I pride myself on my creativity, and through this, I provide personalized 1-1 sessions with students and gear my teaching towards their individual needs. I ask students to tell me about what they're having particular trouble with and help them understand these topics and talk through any issues. I talk to students about their preferred learning methods and structure my teaching around this for optimum results. I'm open to questions and I'm always happy to help students extend their knowledge beyond the curriculum.

About Me
I am a Joint Honours student currently studying for my undergraduate in English Literature and Classical Literature and Civilisation at the University of Birmingham, and I am working towards achieving a strong first. I am passionate about my education and I hope to pursue a Master's degree once I've completed my undergraduate degree.I pride myself on my creativity, and through this I provide personalised 1-1 sessions with students and gear my teaching towards their individual needs. I ask students to tell me about what they're having particular trouble with, and help them understand these topics and talk through any issues. I talk to students about their preferred learning methods, and structure my teaching around this for optimum results. I'm open to questions and I'm always happy to help students extend their knowledge beyond the curriculum.
I am comfortable teaching the following subjects up to GCSE level:
-English literature
-Classical civilisation and literature/ancient history (not including ancient languages)
-Some history topics: the Tudors (from Henry VII to Elizabeth I); American history from the invention of the cotton gin in 1793 through to the death of Martin Luther King in 1968; the First World War; and international relations during the Cold War.
I ask my students to let me know what they are learning about (eg. particular books they're reading; what period of history they're looking at; specific topics) so that I can prepare lessons and resources. I also focus on what they are having particular difficulties with. Before beginning tuition, I will discuss different learning strategies with students so as to ensure all teaching is relevant and to make the best use of time.

Tutoring in Academic Writing and Historical Research MethodsIf you are struggling with academic writing, getting a research project off the ground, or just want someone else to bounce ideas off of without pressure, I am happy to be your guide!
My experience with academic writing spans several large historical research projects undertaken during the completion of my B. A. in History at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, where I graduated cum laude. This includes one piece nominated as a finalist for publication in the school's historical journal.
I also have experience in tutoring and public history via an internship at the Memphis Museum of Science and History (MoSH) where I worked to research, design and implement a new exhibit in a historical home owned by the museum. In addition, I have tutoring experience via working directly with local Memphis high school students on their college application essays via Rhodes.
I understand firsthand the challenges that come with academic writing and historical research, and I will use my experience to offer strategies that will help your work and research become the best it can possibly be!

US & European History for Middle & High School StudentsHistory is one of the most important subjects for any student to understand. In addition to being part of a student's core curriculum, an understanding of history is essential for viewing the world in an informed manner. Through this course, we will learn about US & European History at the middle and high school levels. Rather than exploring history through dates and memorization, we will view history through the lenses of causation, continuity and change over time, and comparison.

Serbian language classes for foreign people with MajaSerbian is a rich and expressive language with deep cultural roots. It uses both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets and is phonetic, meaning words are pronounced just as they’re written – a big plus for learners!
Here’s why learning Serbian is a great idea:
Cultural Access – Understand Serbian literature, music, and film in their original form.
Travel and Connection – Connect more deeply with locals when visiting Serbia or the Balkans.
Gateway Language – It helps in learning other Slavic languages like Croatian, Bosnian, or Russian.
Unique Skill – Fewer people learn Serbian, so it stands out in business, diplomacy, or academia.
Serbian isn’t just a language – it’s a doorway to a rich world of tradition, humor, and human connection.

Learn Armenian language, grammar, literature and history in Western Armenian.Western Armenian is a language that has been put in the endangered language's list, and I personally believe that such a rich language should never die. I believe that I am taking a huge initiative to be one of the individuals who'll try to save this important language from disappearing.
I try to make my lessons as interacting as possible. The lessons and exercises will be provided through PowerPoint presentations. I try to listen to my student in order to prepare the lesson plan together, according to his needs and preferences.
I've always been the smiling and friendly tutor who makes the student comfortable during the lessons. I believe that in order to reach the students you need to understand them also emotionally and psychologically.
