I went to college for Traditional Eastern Arts, with a concentration in Tai Chi. During my time at college, I studied Eastern Philosophy including Taoism (Daoism), Buddhism, and Hinduism. Since graduating I have taught multiple people Tai Chi, meditation and discussed Eastern Philosophy. I continue to study Eastern Religions and continue to meditate. Most of these experiences have been with small groups or 1 on 1. My approach to teaching is to meet the student where they are. I start every class with a small meditation practice, then jump into the topic of the day. During my first class, I will see what the student already knows and start with the basics of Eastern Philosophy then move into the religions. After they have the groundwork, I will start comparing them to Western Religions. My approach is extremely agnostic without pushing an religious agenda.

I have 12 years of practice teaching people how to do it. We work together step by step to understand the technique, the way to prepare wooden panel to paint an icon and the techniques of making a good project to make the icon fit to the board. We also learn how to make gold leaf layer on the halos. Your icon will be a real, crafted icon.
