About Me

Hello, my name is Natalie and I have been a teacher in a local secondary school since September 2020. Before this I was a science technician and a Masters graduate to distinction. From September 2020 onwards I have taught KS3 and KS4 as well as private tutoring with students with SEND. I have experience of the AQA specification. I am motivated to try to encourage my students to achieve the best they can and I put them at the centre of my approach. Education should always be about what you can do and my focus is on tackling those areas a student can improve upon and support them to be able to do this. I have a wide variety of methods to enable the students to develop the confidence they need to perform at their best in the exam.

Education

BSc in Forensic Biology MSc in Forensic Anthropology to distinction and QTS status via assessment only route. Prior to completing my QTS I was a science technician and have knowledge of the required AQA practicals as well as knowledge of other practicals that aid in students learning of key concepts.

I am a second year medical student at Cardiff University. I gained A star grades in all GCSE sciences, Geography and A level Geography and am happy to tutor in any of these subjects. I have past experience of tutoring several GCSE students. I teach by carefully explaining the topic as a whole, and then focusing in on any parts that a student finds confusing or particularly hard to grasp. I also use past exam questions to consolidate knowledge and ensure the students are prepared for exams; I will also set these as homework. My main aim is to ensure the students enjoy themselves and feel confident in the subject.
I am also available to help students prepare for medical school applications, as I have gone through this process myself and been successful.
