Drum Lessons
I began teaching drums 13 years ago and developed a passion for helping and educating students. I have taught many grade exams with a 100% pass rate whilst accomplishing Grade 8 Trinity/Guildhall syllabus Drum Kit and Grade 5 marching Snare Drum myself.
I tailor my lessons to each individual student’s needs. This could be picking up the drumsticks for the first time to honing the bass drum technique.
I teach sight reading, drum music theory, rudiments, songs and how to break them down, various techniques and fundamentals of playing drums.
I can also give advice on drum kit setup and equipment, ergonomics, good practice routine and listening to music.
Many of my students have found learning grades a useful exercise to map their progression. I teach Trinity syllabus grade exams (although other syllabus are available if students prefer) as they are well recognized and extremely challenging, further building students' abilities. However, if you prefer to just play drums for pure pleasure, I can help you reach your full musical potential.

Education
Greg “Rozzy” has been playing drums since he was 12 years old. He joined his first band not long after and quickly developed a passion for playing live. Greg took a Popular Music Performance degree at BIMM London, (formerly Drumtech) in order to further his dream of becoming a professional drummer. An invitation to join a band quickly followed and he has now been touring internationally and across the UK for nearly two decades.
Greg is a quarter of one of the UK’s hardest working rock bands, New Device. Greg enjoys extensively touring the UK and being a professional recording artist with the band.
Since the release of their debut album ‘Takin' Over’ in 2009, he has made appearances at many of the major UK festivals, including Download, Sonisphere and High Voltage and has toured extensively supporting such bands as rock legends Bon Jovi, Bullet For My Valentine, Gun, Heavens Basement, Europe and Backyard Babies.
Their first two studio albums received rave reviews by magazines including Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Classic Rock. Greg has also received national radio airplay with New Device on BBC1 Radio Rock Show, XFM and Kerrang! Radio.
‘Strung Out’, the latest single from their EP ‘Devils On The Run’, recently shot straight into the Scuzz TV video chart and is now on regular rotation on Kerrang! TV.
Greg has also been headhunted by Management Companies to play in music videos, including electro pop and for other session work.
Greg has most recently been on tour with a variety of ABBA tribute bands playing to sell out theatre audiences across UK and most memorably playing a unique show to the staff of Her Majesty the Queen at Windsor Castle!
Alongside touring life and his various other projects, Greg has been teaching drums privately for the past 13 years, educating pupils of all ages from beginner to advanced levels. He has taught many grade exams whilst accomplishing Grade 8 Trinity/Guildhall syllabus Drum Kit himself.
In his spare time, Greg is also pursuing his interest in marching snare drum and has achieved Grade 5 Trinity/Guildhall syllabus in this discipline.
Greg would like to thank Mapex, Paiste, Protection Racket, Roland and Vic Firth for their continued support.
