I provide guitar lessons that mainly focus on bringing out your style and expressing your sound. I can teach you a lot to do with the acoustic, in regards to fingerpicking, open chords, alternate tunings, etc. We'll identify which exercises you'll need to practice to get to the spot you want, and I'll provide you with many things to take home and practice on your own. I can also teach you any of your favourite songs that you want to learn.

I also provide songwriting/composition lessons. With songwriting, there are so many aspects, like constantly changing melodies, harmonies, lyrics, mood, theme, instrument arrangements, and so forth. For beginners, I can teach you how to get started with songwriting in a way that you'd soon be able to go home and easily write songs by yourself. For more advanced songwriters, I can critique your writing process in a way that ensures you get the best song possible. Especially for native French speakers, I can help you write better English lyrics, and work alongside you in your own songs that you want to put out.

About Me

I'm a singer-songwriter from Colorado, US. I have played guitar all my life and love the instrument to death, but especially love passing that knowledge onto others in whatever way I can. I've been a songwriter for quite a while as well, and have written around 600 songs in my life.

Education

I've completed high school with a 3.9 GPA. In those years I had 4 semesters worth of intensive band class where I was first seat trumpet. I have had 6 years worth of choir. To be honest, I am completely self taught with guitar and never had a lesson in my life. Its just playing it repeatedly day after day and learning. That's not to say I don't know anything about the theory behind it, because that part naturally comes too.

I've played guitar for my church the past eight years. I've filled several notebooks with around 600 songs. I've recently put out an E.P. where everything was written, produced, mixed, and sung by me.

Folk or classical acoustic guitar.

The teaching philosophy is adapted to the level of each individual, according to the pace of work and motivation.

For example, for beginners: Technique of the plectrum or fingers, coordination and correction of the right and left hand. Learning basic chords, simple themes, simple rhythms, reading tablatures (...).

For intermediaries: development of rhythm, construction of chords, writing of tablatures, basic notions of harmony (...).

Depending on your goals, you can learn, if you wish, to play 60 to 80% of current music from the first lessons, which often use the same chords and the same techniques. The objectives take into consideration the following points:

-Study of various playing techniques, chords, harmony, music of your choice, rhythm, with reading of tablature, teaching structured around the repertoire you like, technique of developing the musical ear
- Discovery of the neck, notes and basic positions of open chords

Hello, welcome to my ad!

My name is Matéo and I am 26 years old. I have been playing guitar for 9 years and teaching it for 5 years. After studying at the conservatory and music school, I obtained my Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) specializing in jazz guitar. Over the years, I have been able to accompany around forty students, both in private lessons, group lessons and at the conservatory where I teach today.

OPTION1) The course I offer is aimed at beginner to intermediate level guitarists, of all ages (children too!), in acoustic and electric guitar.
My goal is to give you the essential basics of the instrument (body position, technique, chords) as well as an understanding of fundamental musical concepts (rhythm, ear, reading tablature and/or music theory) which will be very useful to you as a musician.
We will base our learning as quickly as possible on real pieces of music, if possible suggested by the student because I think that learning by playing the music you like is the most motivating method.
As a teacher, I have always adapted as best I could to each profile to make them learn in the way that suited them best, make them play the music they like, help them with their difficulties and push them to surpass themselves in their abilities.
Finally, I always make sure that the lessons take place in a calm and pleasant atmosphere so that the student progresses at their own pace and learns while having fun.

OPTION 2) This course is for intermediate to advanced guitarists (and musicians in general) who want to acquire a deeper understanding of music theory. What we can cover, depending on your needs: analysis, harmony, composition, transcription, improvisation, music theory, ...

I'm Etienne, I'm a professional electronic music producer and guitarist.
I have been practicing MAO (computer-assisted music) for more than ten years, notably within a Techno music group in which I was able to train in sound engineering with a qualified engineer. of INFA.
I was also able to perfect my approach to composition by training with a teacher at the American School of modern music Paris.

I'm part of a Techno duo Sana + Nasa (more recently renamed "AZA:ZEL").
We are in the artist catalog of the booking agency La Quarantaine, our music has been published on labels such as SCTR, Carcères Records, Jaelos and Afterhours and we have had the privilege of playing several times in Paris, Berlin and Zagreb.
