Hello there! My name is Marcella, born and raised in the Netherlands and fond of travelling all around the globe. Today I own a travel website and write for some magazines. To make a bit more cash and to keep up with my former life as a teacher, I teach some extra classes to teenagers and adults alike. I am a qualified teacher of the English language with a specialisation in working with teenagers who are challenged by ADHD, Autism, ADD and PDDNOS. After working as an English teacher and mentor in different types of schools in the Netherlands, Belgium and South Africa I am currently living in Paris and very motivated to help students improve their English in different ways.

I used to successfully run a homework institution before leaving the Netherlands where I helped teenagers focus, plan, learn and reflect on their own process. I am willing to teach broader than English only and help teenagers plan, find motivation back and get back on track in case the need is there. Having taken a fair amount of courses in psychology and after years of experience with demotivated teenagers I can help you find your motivation back and set refreshing goals.

I am ver flexible in switching from grammar lessons, to conversational English, to analysing texts and essay writing and can teach pretty much on demand.

My lessons will be fun, open-minded, with interesting topics. So whether you have a teenager at home who needs some motivation, are a business person who wants to be more confident in speaking English, or polish up your grammar or overall English before travelling to an English-speaking country, you can count on me!

(Besides being fluent in English I speak a basic French, German, Swedish and Dutch as my mother tongue).

About Me

Before coming up with a whole training program I would like to determine the challenges and goals of my students first. I am flexible and hands on.

I am used to improvising and used to one-to-one sessions in my previous jobs with demotivated teenagers who I got back on track or helped preparing exams.

I love traveling (started my own travel website), music (I play several instruments), photography and cultures. I am eclectic and with a wide interest of different topics, general knowledge and experience in teaching English as a foreign language, I am sure I will be able to help you achieve your goals, no matter what your age is or what level your goals are.

Education

Teacher of the English language (Bachelor), Minor in Special Needs (teaching teenagers with learning difficulties). Trainings have been achieved in the Netherlands, copy of my diplomas upon request.

Experience / Qualifications

- 4 Years a mentor and English teacher, teaching students between 12 and 18 years old at all levels.
- Managing a high-end homework institution through which I guided more than 80 students to get ready for their exams and get their focus back on their homework.
- Years and years of private English classes of all sorts with teenagers in the Netherlands.
- Setting up a homework class for orphans in South Africa
