English Immersion Course - Immersive English Language Course
From 21.44 £ /h
By using a wide variety of media, I am able to teach not only a general skill in the English language, but the confidence to use it in real life situations. The mix of reading, speaking and list I offer makes classes fast, fun and more useful than classical language classes.

About Me
Hi there, I’m Dave and I’ve just moved to Paris to study for a masters degree at Sciences Po. I also give personal tuition in order to share my passion for understanding the world around us in its great complexity - my academic background being in Archaeology and Anthropology. What is interesting about this choice was that this was never something I was particularly interested in growing up. My primary goal in tutorials is to spark the interest of the student, in whatever subject they need help, by giving them the bigger picture.
I am also mildly dyslexic which helps me understand some of the issues children face while they are formulating good learning habits. Dyslexia is not a weakness, it simply means that you are comparatively stronger in some academic skills over others. I used to struggle putting my ideas onto paper, and was daunted at the prospect of organising my ideas on a particular subject. My tutorials can help students generate successful strategies for writing essays of a high quality.
Tuition would start by identifying the current curriculum a child is working on, and moving on from there. I am generally happy to help with all kinds of academic work.

Why is history important? What can we learn from the past that is relevant today, or interesting enough to study in great detail?
These are extremely important questions that many students face when they have to study world history. Often, however, these questions are never properly answered. The first aim of my class is to tackle these questions head on, to encourage a real interest in past ways of life and the role of history.
The secondary role of my tuition is to help the student become more confident in their writing: how they can formulate their ideas into a strong, coherent piece of work.
