This class is designed for students who want to improve their academic English, essay writing, grammar and overall ability to express ideas clearly and effectively in written English. Lessons are personalised based on each student’s level, goals, and the type of writing or academic support they need.

I can help with essay structure, grammar, analysis, argument development, vocabulary, academic style, proofreading guidance, and improving clarity and confidence in writing. Lessons are suitable for students working on school essays, assignments, academic projects, presentations, university applications, or preparing for academically demanding English courses such as IGCSE or the IB Diploma Programme.

Having completed both IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in an international school fully taught in English, I understand the challenges students often face when trying to write in a clear, analytical, and academically strong way. During the IB, I studied English A language and literature, which strengthened my analytical writing and critical thinking skills and gave me extensive experience with academic essays and textual analysis.

Lessons are supportive, engaging, and adapted individually to each student. Depending on the student’s needs, classes can focus more on essay writing, academic structure, grammar, analytical thinking, or developing a more natural and confident academic writing style overall.

About Me

My name is Karolína, I’m 19 year old student from Czech Republic and I recently completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) after studying for 6 years at The English College in Prague, an international school fully taught in English.

English has become a huge part of my life and genuinely one of my biggest passions. Although it is not technically my first language, it has become the language I am most fluent and comfortable in through years of immersion, communication, media and independent learning. Because I learned much of it myself rather than growing up with it naturally, I understand both the challenges of learning a language and what actually helps students improve confidently and realistically.

I love helping people feel more comfortable expressing themselves in English, whether that means improving conversational fluency, preparing for school or exams, developing academic writing skills, or simply gaining more confidence speaking. I work with students of different ages and levels and always try to adapt lessons to each person individually, because I believe people learn best when lessons feel engaging, supportive and natural rather than stressful or overly strict.

Alongside English tutoring, I also offer support for IB students, especially in English, Biology and Psychology. During the IB, I studied English A language and literature, biology HL and psychology HL, which strengthened not only my academic skills but also my interest in communication, critical thinking and understanding how people learn.

I speak multiple languages and really enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and cultures. Outside of academics, I’m especially interested in psychology, human behaviour, communication and personal development. As a tutor, my goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them become more confident in themselves and their abilities.

I aim to create relaxed and engaging lessons where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions and improving naturally over time. Depending on your needs, classes can be more conversation based, structured, or interactive.

IB biology, psychology, English A support and exam preparation

This class is designed for IB students who would like support with English, biology, or psychology at both SL and HL level. Lessons are personalised based on each student’s subjects, level, goals, strengths, and the areas they would like to improve or better understand.

I can help with revision, exam preparation, essay writing, analysis, understanding difficult concepts, structuring responses, developing effective study methods, and improving confidence with IB style questions and markscheme expectations. Lessons can focus on content understanding, analytical thinking, academic writing, revision techniques, or preparing for internal assessment depending on the student’s needs.

Having recently completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in an international school fully taught in English, including biology HL, psychology HL, and English A language and literature, I understand both the academic demands of the IB and the challenges students often face when balancing content heavy subjects, analysis, and time management.

Lessons are supportive, engaging, and adapted individually to each student. This class is for anyone interested in the literature of Great Britain and the English speaking world, from beginners to advanced.
The focus is to learn about, analyse and understand key works of English Literature.
It is possible to focus on one highlight (such as Shakespearean, Modern, Medieval) or one part of the world (such as Ireland, America, England).
The class will use the works themselves, such as Dickens, Eliot, or Woolf, and will read and analyse in detail, with set essays and discussions.
