I am currently studying French and German at the University of Cambridge, after having done French, German, and English at A-Level. This class will be individual to any student who takes it, if they arrive with questions or topics they are struggling with then I can help them improve those, or if they give me some samples of work they have done I can go through them and identify points to work on together.

If students simply want to learn a new language for pleasure, then this is something I am also able to facilitate, as long as they tell me what sort of level they are already at.

Come with an idea of what you want to work on, or some recent work if there's nothing in particular. If you want help with English, or French and German literature, then tell me what book you are studying in advance so I can make sure I am prepared to help you with it.

About Me

I'm a current student at the University of Cambridge, studying for a BA in French and German. My course focuses not only on making us fluent in our chosen languages, but also aims to immerse us in their cultures through intense study of literature, history, politics, philosophy, and linguistics. This means that I am able to help other students in improving their grasp of the language itself, as well as being able to provide help in writing critical essays for literature.
While I was still at school, I undertook work experience in a primary school, spent time volunteering with children aged between three and four, and also volunteered as an academic mentor for GCSE students where each session was tailored exactly to what the student wanted. Due to this I have experience teaching and helping students of all ages, and working on an individual basis with students.

GCSEs: 9 A*s and 1 A in Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, German, Latin, and Music.
A-Levels: 1 A*, 3 As, 1 C in German, French, English, Extended Project, and Maths.

Currently a second year at the University of Cambridge, reading French and German.

I was an academic mentor for one year, helping GCSE students in any areas they required more support in, and with general exam technique. I have also done work experience in a primary school, and volunteered with children aged three to four.

I have recently graduated from a CELTA course and I'm eager to apply my skills and knowledge. I have been given a good teaching practice and can use different resources. I mainly specialise in teaching English as a secod language for young people and adults.

I teach English at GCSE level, including language and literature components. This class will provide you with rigorous practice of GCSE-level essays, in accordance with the respective exam boards, and help you build the correct skillset to ascertain that A-A* in your English exam!

My teaching style is mainly practical and conversational, requiring active engagement from myself, as well as the student. The lesson will have active discussion and feedback on practiced work. Students will be given some tasks to do after every lesson, upon which they will be given constructive feedback to hone their skills.

English taught for younger children or pre-school could be relative to reading, writing and comprehension. Where I’ll be working to improve their handwriting and vocabulary by doing regular engaging activities.

For GCSE students the following content for Literature would be covered for:
-Macbeth
-An Inspector Calls
I’ll be teaching some writing structures for each, as well as some content on key analysis. Student is already expected to know all the basic storylines, characters and some analysis. But I may repeat it for you if you’re confused.
For Language, content would be covered for:
-Language Paper 1 and 2
-Creative Writing
Writing structures will be taught for each question. Some examples given and also a lot of creative writing work as it’s my specialty.
