Private lessons in French - English - Letters - Philosophy

From 16 £ /h

I offer private lessons in French, for those who have difficulty in spelling, conjugation or grammar. I accept any type of level, especially beginners. Foreigners who wish to improve their French are also welcome!

Philosophy is (falsely) reputed to be incomprehensible. It would be a shame to pass by so rich and old because of received ideas of this kind. The aim of this course will be to explain to you as clearly as possible, and with pedagogy, the great philosophical doctrines, from Antiquity to the present day. We will review the technical notions that will be difficult for you, and will analyze texts in a fun way, so that you get a taste for thought! I accept final year students, high schools as a whole, and adults (young or not) who wish to broaden their culture.

I also offer beginner to intermediate level English lessons. We will work on English thanks to a simple and fun method: by watching English-speaking films and series, and by translating famous works of Anglo-Saxon culture. Soon you will love learning English. I accept high school students, students and adults wishing to improve their English.

Depending on your request, the class can focus on the improvement of your oral or written competencies. In case you want to maintain the level of your understanding and oral abilities, we will improve that.

I have been teaching English for nearly 25 years. I teach exclusively online (via Teams).

I am TEFL certified. I also have the TEFL - TBE (TEFL Certificate in Teaching Business English) and the TEFL - TEYL (TEFL Certificate in Teaching English to Young Learners) certificates.

Si vous souhaitez apprendre la grammaire, maîtrisez vos compétences en écriture ou compréhension, nous travaillerons à ce sujet. Dans le cas où vous souhaitez maintenir le niveau de compréhension et les capacités orales, nous améliorerons cela.

English, although it is an easier language than some others, can, at times, prove to be complicated.

Bilingual following my childhood spent in England, I offer support from elementary school to high school (and more), whatever your level (basic or not).

Whether it is for a school aid or to better understand English, speak it, review basics that have not been completely acquired, build sentences, write paragraphs, analyze words and use them, improve pronunciation, spelling, translating, or just conversing in English ..., I offer my help.

My services in learning English are quite broad: we will analyze what you are missing and I will adapt the course according to your needs, so that it is no longer a problem.

I am a trained French teacher with a degree in linguistics. I have been teaching since 2012 and I support candidates in improving their French and preparing for official exams.

The preparation is fully tailored to your level, the date of your exam and the skills you need to strengthen.

We are working on the different challenges:
- listening comprehension;
- understanding of written texts;
- written production;
- oral production.

The goal is not only to improve your French, but also to understand what examiners expect and to learn how to respond effectively to exam instructions.

Depending on your needs, we can work on methodology, organization of ideas, argumentation, grammar, vocabulary, time management and correction of written or oral productions.

Exercises and practice topics may be offered between lessons to track your progress and identify areas that require more work.

As the exam approaches, we can also carry out simulations under conditions close to the real test, particularly for oral production.

Before we begin, simply tell me the diploma and level you are preparing for, the scheduled date of the exam, and the difficulties you wish to work on as a priority.

I offer English lessons tailored to each student's level, goals, and needs. As an American and native English speaker, I am also bilingual in French, which allows me to easily support French-speaking students and explain any difficulties clearly and accessibly.

The courses can focus on conversation and speaking, reading and listening comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or even school and university English.

I can also teach science in English, including biology and biochemistry, for students who want to develop their scientific skills while improving their English. This approach is particularly well-suited to students in a bilingual program or those wishing to learn scientific vocabulary in English.

For students who want to improve academically, I can help prepare for tests, exams, oral presentations, and written assignments. For more advanced students, I also offer tutoring in academic English, writing, and communication.

I favor a personalized and interactive approach, with activities tailored to each student's level and objectives. My goal is to enable each student to gradually gain confidence and independence, while developing concrete English skills.

Courses can be offered in person, in a hybrid format or entirely remotely, depending on the student's preferences and needs.
