Marcello' Conservatory in Venice and at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels with Barthold Kuijken and Frank Theuns in the Baroque flute. I hold a master degree in Philosophy and Musicology as well. I hold a PhD degree in music performance at Cardiff University, School of Music. From 2013 till 2015, I have been teaching at the Venice Conservatory "B. Marcello", giving yearly lectures and seminaries on the historical repertoire for the flute. Since 2021, I have been appointed music curator of Coudenberg Sound Box Fest, a music festival which aims at celebrating the Belgian music heritage and takes place every year at the beautiful archeological site of the former Royal Palace of Brussels. I recorded for Warner Classics & Erato, and a soloist for Arcana/Outhere Music ('La solitude à deux. Solos and duets by G. P. Telemann' in 2018 and 'Affect is no Crime. New music for old instruments' in 2019). My goal is to provide the student with the basic practical knowledge of the transverse flute, from level 0. Such things as learning to hold the instrument, learning to make sound from it and eventually, of course, playing small exercises and pieces. With this base, the student will feel gradually more at ease with the instrument, and gain his/her independence. The method I use is the same I studied when I started playing, as a young child, in the National Conservatory of Lisbon. Althouth this method serves as a guide, I will adapt my classes to the needs and goals of each student.

I’m Elena, I’m Italian and I’m an opera singer, currently actively performing in the contemporary field :) On top of my artistic career, which is now 20+ years old, I have 10 years of solid everyday experience in the musical teaching field, with particular regards for online teaching. My specialties are: teaching opera voice and kids’ vocality. For both of these, any level, even absolute beginner is 100% welcome! I’ve been training children and teens ever since I graduated from my position at La Scala children choir at 18 years old. These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations.
