I specialize in teaching English to speakers of other languages with a special interest and focus upon correct accent and pronunciation. However, I also can help to improve a native English speaker's understanding of grammar and the correct usage of punctuation in their written work.

I completed my BA(Hons) in African Studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Where my focus was on languages, linguistics, phonetics, and religion. Therefore I have the ability to facilitate knowledge within the African Studies field. I have a working knowledge of a number of African languages including Wolof, Hausa, Swahili, and Krio.

These study experiences equipped me with a greater knowledge of some of the languages and cultures of Africa, therefore I can create lessons and classes which take into account the student's cultural and linguistic background in which I can develop lessons that focus upon a particular student's needs.
I also have, Certificate IV Training and Assessment, Federation University, Australia
Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages,
Kangan Institute, Melbourne, Australia
Level 3 Certificate in Delivering Learning, Westminster Kingsway College,
London.

With these qualifications and my primary and secondary knowledge of African culture and languages, I can create lessons that are engaging, interesting and enjoyable for the students which ultimately will be educationally rewarding for the student.

Extra information

Handouts, teaching materials (not including student textbooks) markers test/exam materials will be supplied by the Tutor. The student can bring along any media devices that they are comfortable using. Students should have pens, workbooks of their own. However, they can be provided by the tutor at their cost price.
