About Me

Holding a Bachelor's degree in special education – socio-educational support and a Master's degree in English/French literary translation, I offer English lessons for children and adults.

My background combines educational support, languages, and teaching. I have given private English lessons and taught French at university in Canada. I also lived for several years in English-speaking countries (Ireland, Great Britain, New Zealand, and Canada). I currently work in the socio-educational field and am also trained in the Montessori method.

In my classes, my primary aim is to share my language knowledge in a lively and, as much as possible, fun way. My goal is to help everyone gain confidence and gradually feel more comfortable speaking and writing English.

I also like to build on my students' interests: learning a language becomes much more motivating when it allows us to talk about subjects that truly interest us. For me, learning a language is also a wonderful way to discover other cultures and open oneself up to the world.

That's why I offer courses tailored to the age, level, and goals of each student:

I am a qualified English teacher from England. I obtained my bachelor's degree in linguistics at Lancaster University (UK) and will soon have my master's degree. I have been teaching English for over 3 years to students who wish to improve their English language skills or become bilingual. All my students are satisfied with my course and those who had entrance exams have passed successfully. There is nothing like having English lessons with a qualified English speaker ;-) I have done all my studies in English and in the United Kingdom, I consider English as being my first language among all the other ones I have learned. Being a "native" speaker for me is meaningless, the qualifications are the most important as well as the experience (you could have a "native" speaker who makes a lot of mistakes because this person is not qualified in teaching).

The price of the lessons is moderate compared to the effectiveness of my courses. I use a variety of methods and can easily adapt to the needs of the student. I offer courses at all levels (beginner, advanced to university level) as well as English courses for IELTS/TOEFL, A-LEVELS or correction of written works.

I have worked with children as well as teenagers and adults. My 3 years of experience as a teacher in England have helped me to develop the qualities necessary to motivate my students and teach them effectively.

I can deliver the lessons online anywhere in the world.

My name is Sonja Nilles and I am originally from Montenegro, where I finished Undergraduate and Specialist Academic Studies at the Faculty of Foreign Languages in Podgorica. Thus, last year I have obtained a Master's degree in Specialist (Spec.Sci) of English Language and Literature – Teaching Orientation and I also have a Bachelor (BSc) in Business English Language. My knowledge of the English Language is on the Native Speaker level.

Through my education and training, I have had the opportunity to work and interact with children and I love inspiring them to learn and of course, I love the results.
There is no better feeling than seeing your students finally “get it” and knowing that you led them and help them understand everything that was the goal for you to teach them.
What I consider to be my hallmarks are creative lesson plans and boundless energy. I believe I do have the mindset and ability for teaching the students in the way which makes it interesting for them to learn.

My classes will be conducted on the English Language which I found very productive and efficient for children because that is the best way for them to learn better and faster.
