About Me
I’m Emily, and I’ve been playing the violin with passion since the age of six.
At seven, I joined an orchestra and have played first violin there ever since. I’ve performed in various concerts such as The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Peter and the Wolf, The Carnival of the Animals, Peer Gynt, and many other classics.
During my violin lessons—because my teacher rented her studio in an institute for the blind—I often played together with blind children. I would gently adjust their bow hold or play along when they lost their place in the music. During concerts, I was often responsible for looking after the children who were then lovingly called the violin stars.
It was a challenge, as the children had to rely entirely on their hearing, and I had to guide them with words and hands-on assistance. But the experience taught me patience and techniques I would never have learned working only with sighted children.
I am very grateful for this experience and would love to pass it on by teaching many children or young people how to play the violin—and, above all, helping them truly connect with it.
