I specialise in Maths and English tuition for 5-11 year olds. I am also highly experienced teaching English language to overseas students (Romania, Dubai, Pakistan, Hong Kong and China) - conversation, grammar, reading and writing. I teach small groups and individuals. I have been a Primary School Teacher and Deputy Head and have over 25 years experience, in both maintained and independent sectors. With a sound understanding of the most up to date teaching trends, curriculum and assessments, I work professionally and knowledegably, bringing out the best in children of all ages and abilities. I can prepare children for Key Stage 1 and 2 SATS, 11+ entrance tests as well as supporting those who need that 'extra boost' to help them improve their learning skills. In my specifically designed teaching space, I have a wide range of resources designed to help students improve and gain confidence in their abilities. To bring out the best in them, I use a wide range of teaching techniques - practical activities, formal practice as well as playing games , which everyone loves, designed to motivate them and to help them develop good learning habits. I believe that my committed and enthusiastic teaching style enables my students to work to their full potential; this then has a positive effect in all other areas of their education.
