Hi! I’m Didac Barber, a professional concert pianist and experienced teacher from Spain, now based in the Netherlands. I hold a Master’s in Piano Performance from The Hartt School (USA) and trained at ESMUC Barcelona, studying with top international pianists like Adolf Pla and Luiz de Moura Castro. I’ve performed across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, and have taught piano for over 15 years — in conservatories, private studios, and internationally online. My passion lies not only in performance but in helping students discover what they are capable of. I’m dedicated, empathetic, and patient — and I want you to enjoy your learning journey as much as I do sharing it. Each student is different, and so are my lessons. Whether you're just starting out or already preparing for auditions or performances, I’ll adapt the lesson to your goals, challenges, and musical taste. This is what a lesson with me looks like. As a student at the TU, I tutor mathematics (all levels and all profiles — Mathematics A, B, C, and D) and physics to students in VMBO, HAVO, and VWO. Whether you are stuck on a single topic, want to improve your grade, or are preparing for your final exams: I tailor the lesson to your needs. A typical one-hour lesson looks like this. We start with a short check-in: what did you cover in class this week, what did you struggle with, and what homework or test is coming up? Based on that, we determine the focus of the lesson together. Then we get to the material. I explain the topic again, but in a way that resonates with you — with examples, diagrams, or by going through a problem step by step together. I think it's important that you know not only the answer but also why something works. That makes a huge difference during tests, because you can then apply the material to problems you haven't seen before. Next, you will practice on your own while I observe. If you get stuck, I will provide guidance; if things are going well, I will move on to a more difficult variation. We will conclude with a brief summary of what we have done and agree on what you will work on independently until the next lesson. Between classes, you can always send me a message with a question or a photo of a problem you can't figure out — that's part of it. My name is Wilma, and I have been playing the cello for most of my life. I am passionate about teaching, and have a lot of experience with it. In my lessons, there is a good balance between technique and musicality. Knowing how to (technically) play the cello is important for being able to express yourself on it, and making beautiful music is the reason we play! I involve my students in the process of investigating problems and experimenting with solutions. This gives people a better understanding of the challenges, and motivates them to engage with those. It is particularly interesting that every person has a different way of learning and different needs, and I enjoy tailoring my approach to each student's personality, requirements and tastes, so she or he can optimally learn. Above all, I love inspiring people, seeing them discover their own aptitude for music and growing as musicians.
