My name is Cindy, and I bring over 20 years of experience in music and piano education. Teaching has been my passion since graduating from university, where I began my journey as a full-time piano teacher. My lessons go beyond piano performance, offering a comprehensive approach that includes sight-reading, music theory, and aural training tailored to each student’s needs.

I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages—children, teenagers, and adults—at every skill level. My teaching style is flexible and personalized, adapting to each student’s interests, goals, and unique strengths. Do you like singing? Or do you walk around with songs in your head all day? Then take singing lessons with Deborah online or in Amstelveen Westwijk. We sing songs from different countries and times. We will also work on different rhythms, notes and tone exercises.

If you are busy singing you can even have a completely different feeling and you can ensure that you have extra energy for the rest of the day.

Your body is your instrument when singing. We try to make that instrument sound as beautiful as possible..

During the singing lessons we also work on articulation, the pronunciation of foreign languages and also on the meaning of and your feelings about a particular piece. Learning to play the guitar can be an amazing experience at every stage of the process! My ultimate goal is to help my students to develop their skills and musical understanding by learning and playing music that they like.

I'm passionate about traversing genres since I have studied both jazz and classical to a high level, making this class perfect for creative pianists and composers who want to go beyond reading music off a piece of paper. Trinity/ABRSM curriculum upto Grade 8, can also be optionally included. Teaching effective practice methods is a priority, ensuring students progress confidently and without leaning on me. Please note, I only teach in person to maintain high standards of guidance in technique. This is not possible via video conferencing. Since everyone asks: yes, I did study at Berklee College of Music as an undergraduate for some time, and I do help students out with their audition preparation for various music colleges!
