I am Pedro, from Córdoba by birth and in Switzerland for studies. I like learning languages and I love Latin American literature. I like that the classes are dynamic and fun, that we take advantage of the time and that you get the tools to boost your learning. I usually work beyond grammar and vocabulary, also reading and writing. I am going to recommend books and movies along with writing material, which we can also work on in class. I'm a Spanish student currently studying a Quantum Information MSc at ETH Zürich. Physics is my passion and I love to teach it, always in a way that the student can understand the concepts and see the beauty behind them. I have taught an uncountable number of students of all kind of levels, from school children that need help with the course to adult people seeking to pass a physics exam for a pilot license or university students. In my 6 years of experience on teaching, what I have learnt is that usually most students just need a bit of motivation, and the best way to give them that motivation is showing them that physics and mathematics are beautiful and fun! I have a Surface Pro tablet that I normally use for aid during the class. It's very useful to show the students animations, videos and figures in order to transmit a better explanation of the concepts. I can also use it for giving classes through online videocall, sharing my screen and writing in it as it were a blackboard. I'm native Spanish so I can teach Spanish as well. Note: I'm currently learning German, so I'll be able to give classes in English or Spanish only.

I have been teaching Spanish for more than 15 years and I have worked in several institutes and embassies as a teacher and cultural bridge. I am currently living in Berlin where I am developing a personal project and working as a teacher online and in face-to-face classes. Normally I am interested in generating a creative bond with my students and that is why I work with many of them for relatively long periods of time. In the classes I am interested in having a solid grammar structure but the emphasis is on conversation. In this way I feel that a rich and interesting interaction is generated where, honestly, I myself learn from my students‘ experiences and points of view. I am convinced, as a language learner myself, that learning a language is not simply a tool for communication. I feel that to learn another language is to open oneself to another code or way of thinking and perceiving the world. For example, Romance languages (Spanish, Italian, French, etc.) think and feel the world in a different way than Germanic languages (English, German, etc.) I am fascinated by these differences and similarities. Traveling in Japan, I could only admire the beauty of how we represent the world through our language. I feel that in a world that is becoming increasingly depersonalized and where artificial intelligence and algorithms seem to creep into every corner of our lives, maintaining human, imperfect and warm contacts is a form of resistance. In that sense, both in my project with sacred languages such as philosophy and astrology and in language classes, I try to maintain the human dimension and respect the beauty and multidimensionality of communication. Apart from my background in philosophy at university, I am interested in art, politics, culture as an expression of an epoch, psychoanalysis, comparative religions, etc. In this context, with many of my more advanced students we work with texts and films where our interests intersect. For the more beginning classes the emphasis is also on conversation, but with a grammatical framework and progression. That is why I am interested in understanding the students‘ objectives. Whether learning for pleasure or for a trip, to take an international exam or for cultural reasons, I believe that framing the classes in a structure allows the creative to emerge.
