Trusted teacher: How does a normal saxophone lesson look? A saxophone lesson is completely different every time. Maybe one week we'll learn a difficult technical piece and the next week a popular song of you choice. Sometimes we talk a little bit about music theory, other times we may be improvising. The first lessons we'll focus on building a good foundation: a perfect posture, the right breathing technique, finger- and mouth-positioning. A little knowledge about the instrument itself is certainly not skipped. Do I have to know music theory beforehand? No. During the lesson I will teach you music theory, to immediately apply it in practice. Rest assured, this does not precede playing the saxophone. For the people who already have a background in music theory, all the better. In the lessons I can refine your theoretical knowledge. How often do classes take place? You choose how often the saxophone lessons take place, this always depends on what you want to achieve yourself. It goes without saying that the more regularly you take lessons, the greater my commitment is. This is because the follow-up is easier. This of course depends entirely on your own work / school / life schedule. How often will I have to practice? Learning any instrument takes time and effort. The ideal solution is that you can practice a little bit every day, but I know that this is not possible for many. It is mainly a matter of exercising as consistently as possible. Preferably five minutes every day, then once a week for two hours. How long does it take before I can play known songs? That depends entirely on yourself. If you can practice every day from day one, it won't be long at all. If, on the other hand, you take your saxophone once every two weeks, it can take longer From and until what age can I learn to play the saxophone? There is no age on music. The young children can test whether they can hold a saxophone. For the little ones it is advisable to learn to play the saxophone on a curved soprano. The alt saxophone is the best option for all other interested people.

Trusted teacher: [English below] Hello ! A great music enthusiast, I have a Master's degree in Jazz Saxophone and a year of Agrégation (teaching training) at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. I also have a Ph.D. from Laval University (Canada). I am also a musician in various groups, and perform regularly in the United States and Europe. My classes have a structure and are also personalized. I adapt to what you want to learn, while giving importance to basic concepts: sound, accuracy, groove, harmony, ... until giving you independence and confidence necessary in order to learn for yourself. In order to allow me to teach at a distance, and thanks to the enormous technological advances of recent years, I use the Skype program. This allows us to keep regular courses, which are the key to successful learning, and to send you, in real time, the educational sheets used in class. With my support, you will surprise yourself and can quickly have fun with this beautiful instrument. Please contact Apprentus to receive my information ☺️ Hi there ! My name is Laurent. Passionate about music, I hold a Master in Jazz studies in Saxophone from the Music Conservatory of Brussels. I also became a certified teacher (after followed a one year-long pedagogical training) at the same University. I also have a Ph.D. from Laval University (Québec city). I am an active musician in various bands, and perform regularly in Europe and North America. My lessons are structured yet highly personalized. I will adapt to whatever YOU want to learn, while giving weight to basic concepts: the sound, intonation, groove, harmony, ... until you'll reach independence and have the confidence needed to learn by yourself. In order to give long-distance support, I give you the best of my classes by Skype. I believe that regularity is a key to success in learning a musical instrument, and I found the extra-flexibility of the online classes very profitable for that purpose. Thanks to my assistance, you'll be surprised by how fast you'll be able to enjoy playing the saxophone! Apprentices contact.

Trusted teacher: Studied jazz musician gives saxophone lessons, focused on the joy of making music. You decide where to go. I'm on stage full-time. I am currently involved in a large number of projects with various musical styles. My references include an appearance on the Dutch television station L1mburg TV, as well as a concert on the public radio program NPO Jazz in the Netherlands, as well as appearances at various jazz festivals, including North Sea Jazz Rotterdam, JazzOut Limburg and the Göttingen Jazz Festival. Music has accompanied me since early childhood. I started playing the flute when I was five and the saxophone when I was nine. After gaining a lot of experience in big bands, funk/soul bands, rock bands and other projects, my interests culminated in studying jazz and saxophone at the Maastricht Conservatory, which I successfully completed in 2021. About the lesson: It's not just about jazz. You determine the style of music. Whether pop, funk or soul, I'm open to everything. Reflection is the be-all and end-all. I'll teach you music theory and everything to do with sax. The feel and the fun of making music is always the focus. You decide which direction we take. If desired, improvisation plays a major role. The course is suitable for all ages and levels. I take the time to adapt to you and to fulfill your wishes e.g. music style, direction etc.. The lessons take place in my own studio, at your home or online via webcam. No saxophone or previous knowledge necessary.
