Indian music is enjoying growing success with Western audiences. Because more and more artists are performing in our latitudes (especially in venues such as the Théâtre de la Ville, the Musée Guimet in Paris, etc.), and also because the discovery of music with a traditional system of learning arouses the interest of many people who would like to approach music differently; and there are many links between the Indian and Western tradition, due to the universal character of music but also to the fact that India has been able to preserve modes of transmission that have long since disappeared in the West, but which have nothing to envy in terms of efficiency. to modern methods. I propose learning the song of North India, in the dhrupad style, the oldest still transmitted today. Its advantage is that it offers a gradual approach to ragas (musical motifs that could be compared to modes), note by note, without the need for prior knowledge or talent as a virtuoso: the practice is based on the 'listen. Over the course of practice, it nevertheless makes it possible to acquire a great mastery of the voice. The lesson, which lasts one hour (half for children), takes place accompanied by the tampura, an instrument that gives the "drone" or fundamental/tonic note. It is from this persistent note that the student will learn to place his voice, to find the correctness of tone and timbre. This is done gently, the pace of learning adapting to that of the student. In addition, the achievements in this style of singing can always be useful later for other styles of music, even outside India, up to jazz and classical/baroque music. My apprenticeship was for twelve years with one of the 19th generation masters teaching this tradition, Ustad H. Sayeeduddin Dagar, belonging to the illustrious family which made this style and Indian music known in the West in the years 1960. It has now continued for four years with his nephew Ustad F. My lessons go in search of the right vocal gesture, the one that we produce comfortably, while finding our own voice. The course revolves around a warm-up, vocal exercises, explorations and is based on the repertoire that the student chooses or that he wants me to suggest. The objectives are to develop vocal skills, interpretation, even for some, to discover jazz improvisation. But it is also and above all to take pleasure in singing, to have fun, to be surprised. Aware that daring to go on stage is an achievement for some singers, one of my work objectives is also to accompany my students so that they perform in front of an audience and in the company of musicians with confidence. My private lessons are aimed at an amateur public, of all ages, beginners and intermediates. The lessons are adapted to the level, experience and projects of the students. Reading music theory is not a prerequisite. Professional singer of jazz, bossa nova, French song, singing is a real passion and an authentic pleasure. It is in this state of mind that I sing and teach. For several years, I studied singing, notably in jazz, with various teachers (Sara Lazarus at the Bill Evans Piano Academy, Letizia Morelli, Sonia Alvarez, Thierry Péala, Roger Letson...). In training "Singing, Voice and Body" with Emmanuelle Trinquesse, I develop an expertise in vocal technique and the pleasure of singing always in comfort.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s age, experience, and goals. Children (7–12 years old) For younger students, lessons focus on building confidence while making learning fun. We begin with simple vocal warm-ups and ear training to develop pitch and intonation, then move on to singing their favourite songs, encouraging good vocal habits in an enjoyable way. Teenagers (12-17 years old) With teenage students, we start with more structured vocal warm-ups and exercises. As we discover their natural voice, we work on developing a comfortable vocal range, improving technique, and applying these skills through songs that suit their voice and interests. Adults and seniors (18+) For adult students, lessons are usually divided into two parts. We begin with vocal technique, focusing on breathing, diaphragm support, scales, arpeggios, and intonation. We then apply these techniques through singing, helping you develop confidence, control, and healthy vocal habits. I will give you repertoire to study or we will study the pieces you have to prepare. The final goal will be to sing on a musical accompaniment. Every student learns at a different pace. Some may spend more time building a solid technical foundation before moving on to more challenging repertoire, and that’s perfectly fine. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their vocal journey. I teach children, teenagers, and adults and seniors from complete beginners to advanced singers. My classical training provides a strong technical foundation that can be applied to any musical style, whether you enjoy pop, musical theatre, jazz, rock, or classical singing.
