Trusted teacher: Besides being very active as a performing violinist, I have also been teaching children and adults for years with pleasure. I graduated from the conservatory and also graduated as a music therapist. I am currently training to become an orthopedagogue. As a result, I have a lot of knowledge and patience when working with children/adults who need specific attention. Think of people with autism, gifted children and highly sensitive children. Of course, you are also welcome as an adult with or without additional challenges. I myself have 3 children, 1 gifted and 1 highly sensitive. This has allowed me to teach these children with even more enthusiasm, understanding and patience. It is also possible to indicate in advance in conversation what your child will encounter and how violin lessons can help. For example, with autistic children, think of making contact, feeling. Gifted children experience extra challenges and learn to deal with the frustration that something does not work right away. Of course everyone is welcome with me! I teach from different methods, but look at what is appropriate for each student. I also work on the development of sound performance, solfege, music theory and improvisation. Toby is an outstanding instructor and works with children very naturally. My 11 year old son has been taking lessons with Toby for over two months and is eager for each lesson. Toby is extremely talented, but beyond that, he engages my son deeply with the music itself, fundamental techniques, music theory, and even the interpretation of the music. Toby is kind, encouraging, and works with students at a level that is appropriate. He has allowed my son to chose music that if fun and interesting to practice, even though the pieces are challenging. In fact, I often sit in to listen to the lessons, as they are so good. My son has had a couple of lessons with Toby while company has been over, and everyone has commented on how amazing Toby is as an instructor. Ismael is an amazing teacher. He is very encouraging, supportive and quick to adjust to the needs of his students, while still being very attentive to proper technique, form, posture, musicality, etc. He is able to balance being friendly and being professional.
