Great to meet you all! My name is Tomas and I'm a passionate violin teacher with more than 20 years of teaching experience. I have a strong academic background in music and education. Here are some of the degrees I have obtained: - Master Degree in Music Research from the Valencian International University - Major in Violin Performance from the Conservatory of the Liceu Theater in Barcelona - Teaching degree from the Barcelona Music School - Professional degree from the Music School of Buenos Aires - Specialist in Psychomotricity from University Miguel Cervantes -Specialist in Early Cognitive Development from University Miguel Cervantes Apart from teaching, I also run the world's largest Spanish-language violin blog called MyViolinBlog where I share my teaching and playing experiences. I'm also privileged to work as a conductor for the AMA Orchestra in Barcelona, where my students and I focus on musical group experience and technique. I have teaching experience in different schools across Argentina, Spain, Poland, and Romania, I've developed a unique teaching approach that tailors each lesson to the student's goals, keeping them motivated and on track. I can also assist with preparation for school admissions exams such as ABRSM, Trinity College, and more. As the head teacher at Esclat Barcelona Music School and Viaró Global School, I'm currently conducting research in the biomechanics of violin playing, and I'm set to publish four books on this subject this year! Each class with me is customized to meet the student's needs, covering musical, theoretical, and postural concepts to ensure optimal comfort while playing. I love to explain complex concepts in simple terms and inspire my students to continue learning and exploring their musical abilities. The teaching method is based on maintaining both the motivation and the quality of the violinist's level. Therefore, a wide repertoire is included to address different needs, allowing students to choose concerts or works to practice at their leisure and as part of their progress as an instrumentalist. The etudes are continued as the songs in the repertoire are added. For technical exercises, several etude books are used, including: - Cecilio (for level 0) - The Suzuki Method (as a guiding thread from beginner to advanced) - Kayser Etudes (for the transition to intermediate) - Kreutzer Etudes (for the transition to advanced)

Since the beginning of my artistic violin studies at the Higher Conservatory of Music in Würzburg, Germany, I discovered teaching as my passion and worked as a violin teacher teaching children, teenagers and adults of all levels, both beginners and advanced. Violin classes and masterclasses with various teachers and professors have given me a lot of experience in terms of different techniques and ways of working. The most important thing for me is to convey the joy of making music through violin performance, to encourage my students to overcome their limitations, as well as to teach them a technique that is as natural as possible. Violinist with the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu and the Prague Philharmonic, I am a young musician with a master's degree from the Royal College of Music in London. Whether you start playing from scratch, or if you are thinking of doing competitions or admission tests, I will help you achieve your goals. I have been giving private lessons to all kinds of ages and levels for more than three years, combining it with my own career as a solo, chamber and orchestral musician. For the past three years, I have been intensively studying the Baroque violin and the music of the 17th and 18th centuries. In my teaching, I convey not only technical fundamentals but also stylistic understanding, phrasing, articulation, and the characteristic sound of Baroque music. In addition, I naturally also teach the classical violin repertoire. Lessons cover playing technique, bowing, intonation, vibrato, scales, musical expression, and efficient practice. These courses are primarily aimed at beginners or false beginners wishing to learn the violin on a solid foundation, in a progressive and motivating way. Trained in classical and chamber music by a conservatory professor, I have developed an approach to the violin that is both rigorous and accessible, always keeping the pleasure of playing as the objective. We work on the essential fundamentals: posture, bow hold, intonation, tone, and basic musicality. Emphasis is placed on a clear progression adapted to each student. Each lesson is personalized according to your pace and objectives, whether it's to discover the instrument, consolidate the basics or evolve towards a more expressive style of playing. Hello and thank you for visiting this website! I'm an established, qualified, and experienced violin teacher who has worked in London for the last 26 years. I'm now back in Belgium for some new musical adventures, as well as to meet new students. I welcome students from the age of four to adults. I have a real passion for transmitting my love of music, and I like to have a creative, playful and holistic approach to teaching. I also play the piano and often use it for aural training or to accompany my students (or do violin duets). I do believe that music is not just for competitions or exams but a skill for life that can bring tremendous joy, discoveries, friends and fun along the way. Learning an instrument is also a great way to foster different qualities such as patience, diligence, presence, resilience, deep listening and the ability to express and share our emotions with others. Having explored many different violin methods and styles, I take a different approach according to each student. I like to teach a solid classical technique with some scales, studies and pieces, but there are many different ways to make music enjoyable or find other paths depending on the student's goal. Although I was trained classically in Belgian Conservatoires and the Guildhall School of Music, I do like to teach a variety of music that is not just classical (Celtic, world, klezmer, jazz, tango, film music, pop...). I often encourage my students to compose or improvise freely. In the last two decades, I have led many youth orchestras and violin workshops and worked for many different primary and secondary schools in England. My goal is to make people of all ages and levels learn not only playing an instrument but how can music help them in their everyday life. I am an Albanian violinist, with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music (Violin) and Musicologie in Sorbonne University.
