Trusted teacher: A professor stole the entire plot of my ad and had the audacity to take the same price while being less strong and less experienced. Don't be fooled, always prefer the original to the copy :-) ★ I give lessons to children aged 5 and over. I have a lot of students between 5 and 15 years old. ★ I come to your home in 75, 78, 92, 93 and 95. ★ Please read the different prices and timetables at the bottom of this page. Do you often wonder why you can't progress? Because you are looking left and right for information, advice and books to read but you are getting scattered. You constantly watch chess videos on the Internet which are entertaining but it is too passive an activity which does not really make you study chess in depth. Then, you will play online games at too fast a pace while you do not master the main general principles. You thus develop bad reflexes because you constantly repeat the same mistakes without even realizing it, which causes your level to quickly stagnate. Then, you make a game report which tells you that you played with 80% accuracy but nevertheless you lost and you do not necessarily understand the main reasons. And finally, you watch the game with an analysis module which offers you good moves but does not provide you with the explanations necessary to fully understand them. Some teachers also offer group lessons with a monthly subscription which can help you progress slightly, but what you need is a truly personalized lesson. Taking private lessons will save you a lot of time because I know the methods that work to progress and quickly be more competitive. I will teach you the essential concepts to master to better understand chess overall and I can recommend interesting books to study alongside classes. I have always liked to pass on my knowledge to my students so that they can give the best of themselves. This is why, over the years, I have improved my teaching techniques and I have created a real training program in order to best help my students unlock their potential. It is important to understand that good progress is a subtle balance between playing and studying. Whether you want to compete for fun or to win titles, whether you want to beat your friends or simply discover the complexity of the game of chess: this announcement is made for you! ★ I would like to reassure “beginners” who are sometimes a little “ashamed” of their level by telling them that I have many beginner students! ★ Recent examples: ➤ September 2018, a 16-year-old student takes 1.5 hours of lessons per week to improve in competition. It goes from 1650 to 2000 in around fifteen hours of lessons! ➤ November 2019, I have 2 new students (29 and 30 years old) who are 1200 on Chesscom. One decides to take 3 hours of lessons per week and the other 4 hours. 1 year later, there are 2000 of them on the same site! ➤ September 2021, a 35-year-old student returns to chess competitions after a 20-year hiatus. With 1 hour of lessons per week, it goes from 1350 to 1650 after only 10 hours of lessons! ➤ September 2021, a 23-year-old student decides to take 3 hours of lessons per week at 1600 on Chesscom. After a year of lessons he reached 2380 in 15 minute games! ➤ July 2022, a 30-year-old student decides to take 2 hours of lessons per week, he is then 800 on Chesscom. Barely 6 months later, it is 1450 on the same site! ➤ December 2023, one of my young students gained 200 FIDE elo points in 1.5 years of lessons and has just become Paris Champion in his age category! ★ If you still have hesitations, I have more than 200 reviews left by my students at the bottom of the ad. You can read some of them, this will allow you to get a better idea of the quality of the courses and the good atmosphere that reigns there. In order for the lessons to be effective, the secret is regularity, that is to say doing at least 1 hour of lessons per week. ★ ★ Mini group lessons (2 to 4 people) at your home or via webcam! ➤ If you don't want to take lessons alone because you've never taken one. ➤ If you want to work on common themes with your friends who have a similar level to yours. ➤ If you want your teenagers to do something more interesting than spending their days in front of their tablets. ➤ Or if you simply want quality courses at a preferential price. This offer might interest you! Prices are specified at the very bottom of the ad. ★ ★ Individual lessons for adults and experienced children: I offer quality lessons with a real methodology! ★ Progress of the first lessons: Whether you're competing or playing online, we'll analyze your games over a few sessions. This will allow me to assess your knowledge, thought process, strengths and typical mistakes in order to together define a training program for the upcoming sessions. For this program to be viable I will take into account your level, your ambitions but also the time you can devote to playing and studying. ★ And for the following courses: ➤ A complete and effective repertoire of openings (made with the latest software: Leela 0, Stockfish 16), adapted to your style and your level. Examples: London System, Viennese, Scottish, Tarrash, Sicilian c3, Alekhine, Modern, Philidor, Scandinavian, Caro-Kann, Slavic, East Indian Defense, Petrov... This repertoire is not based on opening traps but on understanding each move played. This will allow you to play good moves without learning tons of variations by heart! My goal is not to make you learn tons of lines that are never played to you! I would like to point out that the lines have been worked very seriously, so you will be able to play them throughout your progress. You will therefore not spend your life re-examining openings whether with white or black. I would like to point out that I show absolutely everything I know! ➤ Learn to build a plan in the middle of the game through the study of the games of world champions and their contemporaries. In this sense, I created a base of 300 classic games to know. The goal is to show you a multitude of different patterns so that you have sufficient chess knowledge to be able to play all types of positions well. You will thus develop automatisms and a certain sense of the game which will help you in your games! ➤ A multitude of tactical exercises to be able to gain a decisive advantage during your games. ➤ And of course the study of elementary checkmates and essential endgames in order to master the endgames. So, I created a base of 66 elementary pawn endings to know. This whole methodology aims to make you a complete player. ★★ Classes for beginner children: I have a lot of children and teenagers who are beginners, it's really an audience that I'm used to working with. It is essential that children have fun, which is why my approach is above all fun! Each child is different, I always adapt my teaching according to their age, their desires and their level. I play with them to teach them to think while they play. Chess really works on concentration (which is good for school!). I teach them to understand the opponent's moves in order to be able to counter them. I make them a small repertoire of openings and I teach them the typical traps of their favorite openings. For the rest, I give them simple exercises to start with, then I progress at the student's pace so that they learn the different rules and techniques while having fun! My lessons boil down to this: good humor and efficiency! If you don't have a chess board, I can bring one back without any problem! ★ Webcam lessons: I use the free Discord software to communicate via video with my student and share my screen. I have a good quality webcam as well as a Razer Seiren Mini microphone which are perfect for good lesson transcription. You will see that Webcam lessons are just as effective as home lessons! I download your played games from the Internet and then we analyze them via ChessBase. Thanks to this software, I have access to all my lessons, so I can present classic games to you as well as openings that I have already analyzed beforehand. I can also show plans using colored arrows, highlight threats, important squares to control or show a weakened pawn structure. It also contains a database of 12 million games which I use to illustrate my explanations with famous games. At the end of each lesson, I send my lessons by email so that you can review the points worked together! ★ Prices for courses at your home: ➤ I live in Enghien-les-Bains (95) and I travel by car 20 minutes from my home. ★ Hours: - Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. - Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ★ Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions because I am very responsive on Apprentus (around 1 hour). We will therefore be able to organize a first course quickly. See you soon ! ★ Details: ★ I am self-employed and declared personal service (SAP) which means that for all the people to whom I physically travel there will be a 50% tax credit on the price of the courses! So whether or not you pay taxes, the state will reimburse you for half of all tuition for the year! This is why there is a reduction for people who take webcam lessons because they cannot benefit from the tax credit (I can't help it, it's the law!). My Auto-Entreprise is approved by the National Quality Charter for its seriousness and its desire to constantly improve its services. ★ Payments are made through Apprentus: I will send you the course proposal at the end of the week for the following week and all you have to do is validate it. Then at the beginning of the month, I send you an invoice by email with all the courses paid for the previous month.
Chess
Trusted teacher: ♟️ Why take lessons? ► Are you a busy adult with limited time and don't know what or how to work on to progress in chess? ► Are you the parent of an ambitious child and do not know how to guide him in his progress? ► Are you a beginner player wishing to discover the game with a titled player, in a good mood? Then this announcement is for you and taking private lessons will save you a lot of time! Indeed, with my experience and my mastery of the game, I am able to: ► To establish a coherent and effective work plan adapted to your level, whatever it is. ► To identify your shortcomings very quickly and to find a remedy. ► Provide or direct you to resources that meet your needs. ► To flesh out the discovery sessions of the game with personal anecdotes or concerning its fascinating history. Overall, I am able to accelerate your progress in a fun and effective way. ♟️ Course of the first lesson: Ideally, the student sends me some parts of him as well as a brief description of his personal objectives before making contact. Then, during the first lesson, we get to know each other around an educational part. ♟️ General course schedule: From the second lesson, we begin the analysis of your games. I ask you to provide me with games that you have played from which I select the most didactic. I teach primarily based on my students' parts because lessons learned from personal experience stay longer and more easily remembered. However, I sometimes show famous and/or illustrative parts when it seems relevant to me to do so to support a point. After a few sessions, I have a very precise idea of the state of your knowledge and I am able to personalize the course according to your needs. From then on, I provide you with exercises and recommend resources that correspond perfectly to the aspect of the game that you must work on to progress as efficiently as possible. ♟️ Topics covered during the courses: My goal is to make you a complete player! I have accompanied several players from a beginner level to an advanced level (2000+), and I know the different steps to take to become a good player, as well as the methods that work to achieve this. Among the topics that we cover in the course and that I help you master are (more or less in order): ► Basic masts ► The importance of the material ► Simple mating patterns ► Simple tactical diagrams ► The 4 basic principles for a successful opening ► Elementary endings to effectively end a game ► Basic strategy: strong / weak side, development of a coherent plan at the exit of the opening, improvement of the pieces ► Candidate moves Then, for more experienced players: ► Advanced tactical diagrams ► A complete and effective opening repertoire, adapted to your style and your level ► Advanced endgames: Activity of the king, passed pawn, activity of the pieces, majority on a wing, etc... ► Advanced strategy: pawn structures, open file, the 7th row, attacking the king, weaknesses, strong squares, prophylaxis, reading the opponent's plan, evaluating a position, exchanging the right pieces, etc... ► Calculation ► Chess creativity ♟️ Classes with children: I adapt my course in order to capture their attention constantly, I ask them funny and relevant questions so that they retain the lessons easily. I make sure that they are participants in the lesson and not spectators. I generally end the lesson with a game against them where I expressly leave a few errors lying around, so as to create spontaneous didactic moments (sometimes with a hint!). A brief summary of the mistakes made during the game follows, which serves as a hook for the next lesson. Two of my students (with whom I have been working for 2 years) finished 1st and 5th in their respective age categories at the last Belgian youth championships. ♟️ Courses on the internet: For online lessons, I use Discord or Skype to chat and share my camera, as well as the lichess platform to analyze and show games or exercises. The latter has a tool allowing the teacher and the student to interact on the same chessboard in real time, and to show ideas using arrows and colored boxes. The student can find all the previous lessons at any time by consulting the work sessions archived on the platform. ♟️ Opening hours: Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. I am available in case you have questions outside of class, I am happy to answer them. I am flexible if ever a course had to be moved due to an unforeseen event. ♟️ Languages: Classes can be given in French, English and Dutch. ♟️ In summary: I am professional, pedagogue and available. You lose nothing by contacting me! Don't be afraid if you are a beginner, most of my students are.

Dmytro
I had my first class with Dmytro and I really enjoyed it. He takes his classes very seriously (he was very punctual, he had indicated to me in advance the apps/tools needed for the class, he was asking if I have questions, he replied very quickly to my messages before the class...). Also, he was very patient with me (I have a low level in chess...). I liked a lot that he was not just explaining "book" theory of chess, but also the practical tricks. I will book a second class. 100% recommended :)

Become a master in chess. Improve fast and start crushing your opponents!
Arman
Arman has been teaching chess to my 6-year old son for about 2 months now. My boy started with hardly any knowledge of the game. Thanks to Arman he now thoroughly enjoys playing chess. Arman is a great teacher: patient but firm - with exactly the right combination of theory (e.g. puzzles, openings etc.) and practice (via Lichess). I highly and wholeheartedly recommend Arman as a chess teacher.

Teaching the fundamentals of chess in English, French or Dutch (Bruges)
Michaël
Michael is an excellent chess teacher, I couldn't recommend him more! I've just had one lesson so far but hope to do more. He was extremely patient (I was really slow) and explained everything very clearly. He speaks perfect English and seems passionate about chess, as well as knowledgeable, so don't hesitate, choose Micheal :)
