A comprehensive English class for beginners to advanced! Taught by a native English speaker and lessons can be in Italian or French. We will be speaking English for most of the class, you will have speaking practice every lesson as well as listening, reading and writing which I will correct and mark. We will have grammar lessons and I will explain common mistakes you make, as well as taking you through complicated pronunciation or grammar rules. I have an excellent understanding of language, I grew up speaking English and Italian, and I learnt French at school, so I understand how language should be taught and what some common difficulties are. I am also learning Turkish and hopefully soon I will be able to teach in Turkish.

English Literature is a broad and expansive subject area. I have a track record of helping 11+, GCSE, A-Level and IB students improve their grades by at least two marks, and many of my students have graduated in the top 1% of their class. I also have considerable experience with helping students write personal statements which (given they've met the grading requirements) have secured them a place in Russel Group universities including Oxbridge. As an editor and writer, I also provide lessons in creative writing. I start by gauging what my student feels they need help with and what they see as their strengths and weaknesses. Then, together, we will come up with a detailed study plan. I have tried and tested methods of preparing students for their exams whether it be helping them understand essay technique, close reading of texts, understanding literary techniques, preparing revision material or learning how to speak and/or write persuasively. According to the needs of the student, I can also assign homework so that the student can maintain their engagement with the topic until the next session. I believe everyone learns differently, and it is my responsibility as a tutor to understand the tutee's learning style so that I can tailor my lessons to the student at hand. This gives them a better chance at grasping linguistic and literary concepts, and, as a result, reaching their full potential.

My classes will be based on exam and course preparation; which includes GCSE, A levels, and IB. Since my expertise is in English Literature, I will be teaching English Language and/or Literature. I can help guide students in understanding how to approach a literary text and most importantly, teaching them critical thinking. I have access to various academic sources such as JSTOR and Google Scholar. I also have subscriptions to various sites such as LitCharts, which is incredibly useful for English Literature courses. I also have copies of my previous essays from my high school days, which will be helpful in using it as an example of how to write an essay. I don't believe that there is one way of writing an essay - and I don't want students to just improve by copying - but having a sample essay can be useful to break down why it received good grades and analyse what made it work. Having completed various exams when I did my GCSEs and IB, I've also become accustomed to taking exams and I understand that doing well on exams is just a matter of practice. Through my classes, I can teach students how to approach various exams, including: how to break down questions, how to structure your time, and how to plan essays during an exam.

I have always loved exchanging and passing on what I have learned. My mother being a German teacher, I have always been immersed in the world of education. I started tutoring when I was in high school, and I still do today. My journey : - Mention Very Good at the ES baccalaureate - Studied Sociology and Political Science at the University of Geneva - History and Spanish studies at the London School of Economics (LSE), First Class Honours. I help academically and psychologically students in History-Geography, SES and English. Hi! I’m an English nerd graduating from Cheltenham Ladies College with an A* prediction.
