We can focus on basic grammar and vocabulary, or start from scratch. On the other hand, we can also work together to prepare for official exams and deal with more complicated situations. Improving business English is also a possibility, as I have previous experience in that area. During our lessons we will mainly use online resources, personalized activities and powerpoint. You will get some homework every lesson, so that you can further internalize what we have seen in class. The lessons can last 1 to 2 hours, depending on personal preference and availability. They are held once or twice a week. I graduated in English Studies, where we studied General English, Morphology, Culture and Literature. In addition, I also have a Master's degree in Language Teaching, which gave me all the tools necessary to teach. I am currently studying a PhD in English Literature at the University of Lleida. I have over 10 years of experience teaching English, plus experience teaching Spanish. I have had both face-to-face and online lessons, both in large and small groups and for individual students. I have taught from kindergarten to older students and have adapted the lessons to their levels and needs. I have also taught business English, conversation courses and exam-oriented lessons.

I started my career as an English language teacher in 2008 and soon became very passionate about language learning and teaching. This culminated in a Masters degree in second-language acquisition and a CELTA Certificate from Dundee College. I specialised in Trinity and Cambridge exams and also in conversational English for practical and everyday use. After many years overseas, both teaching and examining English, I have returned to Spain and am available to share my extensive experience and expertise in all aspects of English. I currently work as an Aviation teacher in a school in Alicante where I have taught for some years. My teaching approach is student-centred and communicative, where learning is a positive experience in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. All my students are encouraged to speak as much as possible to increase fluency. Professionalism, patience and a good sense of humour guaranteed! All lesson materials are provided free of charge. I teach using a mixture of coursebook material , whiteboard presentations, listening activities, video clips and general speaking practice. Germán is a great teacher and also fun to work with. He first carefully diagnoses strengths and weaknesses and then designs tailored exercises around the learning needs and gives concrete feedback and shares vocabulary tips. If you search someone to better understand homework/grammar exercises or someone for stand-alone private classes, German is your guy for both. He can explain grammar or improve conversational skills. Before our private lessons, I took courses at the Cervantes institute and my professor there also respected him a lot for his teaching methods and knowledge.

I will definitely recommend Dora as a tutor for the IGCSE and A-level English Language and Literature. My son is doing A-level Literature in English and we are very happy to find Dora as a tutor. Maria is an excellent teacher who can adapt her teaching style according to her student. My daughter and I both had lessons with her and we both found the lessons both enjoyable and challenging. We both feel we made progress. My daughter has had several tutors over the years and thinks Maria is, for her, perfect.
