Trusted teacher: This workshop is designed to empower neurodivergent artists by providing tools and techniques to tap into their unique creative processes. Neurodivergent individuals—whether living with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other cognitive differences—often approach creativity in non-linear, innovative ways. This class embraces and celebrates those differences, offering a supportive space to explore, experiment, and collaborate. Participants will be guided through a series of creative exercises that focus on unlocking new ways of thinking, finding flow, and transforming perceived challenges into artistic strengths. We will explore topics such as overcoming creative blocks, adapting work environments for sensory needs, and finding inspiration through unconventional sources. This class encourages the use of visual arts, poetry, storytelling, music, and movement, allowing each artist to express themselves authentically. Whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop aims to build confidence and foster a sense of community among neurodivergent artists, helping them unlock their full creative potential. Key Takeaways: - Practical strategies for embracing and enhancing creative processes as a neurodivergent artist. - Techniques for managing focus, sensory overload, and creative burnout. - Opportunities for collaboration and building a supportive network with fellow neurodivergent artists. - Exploration of how neurodivergent perspectives can enrich artistic expression. - This class is open to artists of all mediums and experience levels. I teach out of a cosy and very friendly cafe but it can get busy and occasionally, rather noisy. If you are concerned that this might be overwhelming, I am happy to travel to a location that better suits your sensory needs

Lesson Overview Who: Johannes – Brand owner and Central Saint Martins graduate with experience in celebrity dressing and industry experience in luxury couture houses Techniques & methodology: Practice-led, studio-based teaching combining draping on the body, pattern making, sewing, and portfolio development, tailored to individual goals Lesson length: Typically 90 minutes, allowing time for hands-on making, discussion, and feedback Who the lessons are for: Students aged 16+, including foundation, BA, and MA applicants, as well as early-career designers seeking portfolio refinement or industry insight Languages: English and German Focus: University applications, professional portfolios, technical development, and understanding industry expectations I am the founder of the fashion brand Johannes and an actively practising designer, bringing an industry-focused approach to teaching. I support students in developing strong, competitive portfolios for university applications and professional roles, with clear guidance on concept development, editing, and presentation aligned with current academic and industry expectations. My professional work includes designing and dressing international artists such as Björk, Lady Gaga, Grimes, Kylie Jenner, Megan Thee Stallion, Rina Sawayama, and Post Malone for performances, editorials, and public appearances. This experience gives students direct insight into professional standards, timelines, and the realities of working under pressure within the fashion industry. My technical foundation is shaped by experience in couture and luxury fashion environments including Viktor&Rolf, Givenchy, Balmain, and bespoke tailoring ateliers. My teaching covers draping, pattern making, sewing, and hand-based construction techniques, with a strong focus on fit, proportion, and translating ideas into technically resolved garments. I offer targeted guidance on what universities are looking for at foundation, BA, and MA level: from creative curiosity and process at foundation stage, to technical skill, concept development, and visual clarity at BA level, through to research depth, authorship, and critical positioning at MA level. I work closely with students to ensure their portfolios clearly communicate both creative identity and readiness for academic or professional progression. I am fluent in German and, with formal training in painting, can also support students in developing visual research, composition, and fine art–led portfolio work where relevant.

Excellent friendly communication, easy to arrange lessons at a time that's convenient for me. After an initial discussion she made a lesson plan based on the specific areas I wanted to focus on, with additional lessons based on areas she identified. Lessons are friendly and open - concepts are clearly communicated with room to ask as many questions as needed.
