Hi! I offer private French lessons with a fun and engaging approach, tailored to your interests and learning style. Instead of rigid classroom structures, I focus on “edutainment” – learning while having fun! Since you already have some basics, we can explore various immersive methods: • Cooking a classic French dish while learning vocabulary • Discussing topics that interest you • Analyzing French songs, movies, or books (I often recommend Le Petit Prince – simple yet meaningful) • Practicing real-life conversations, including romantic phrases or modern slang (“largo”) • Learning typical French expressions and their English equivalents • Using creative tools like post-it notes, interactive exercises, and everyday scenarios Each lesson is designed to help you absorb grammar and conjugation naturally, making learning intuitive and enjoyable. My goal is to ensure you gain confidence in speaking and understanding French through practical, real-world usage. There are so many ways to learn—if you have specific preferences, we can explore them too! 🧒 I also offer French classes for children and toddlers, using playful and hands-on methods inspired by the Montessori approach. Through games, songs, sensory activities, and storytelling, little ones can discover the French language in a warm, nurturing environment that respects their rhythm and curiosity. 📍 Recommended frequency: At least 2 hours per week for steady progress – but this is flexible depending on your needs. 📍 Flexible scheduling: Available during the day or in the evening, as I’m a freelance journalist. I offer individual lessons, but we can also have group lessons. If you’d like to start, we can arrange a first session to assess your level and set up a learning plan that fits your goals. Let me know what works for you! Looking forward to helping you on your French journey! ☺️

Struggling to find a tutor who truly gets you and how you learn best? Let’s work together to discover strategies that match your interests and help you succeed! Hey! My name is Sophie, and I’m here to help you master French and math with ease and confidence. As an MSc Management and Strategy student at LSE and a graduate of a bilingual Russian-French school, have a deep grasp of these subjects, allowing me to tailor lessons to your unique needs. I’ve had the rewarding experience of teaching extracurricular French classes to middle and high school students at my former school, and I also have experience tutoring math. Whether you're aiming to boost your conversational skills, improve grammar, or strengthen math fundamentals, my blend of subject knowledge and teaching experience will guide you on your journey to success. My tutoring approach prioritizes patience, clarity, and a tailored teaching style that adapts to each student’s unique learning needs—whether in French or math. When tackling complex French grammar, like the distinction between passé composé and imparfait, I simplify concepts into relatable terms. For example, I liken passé composé to a snapshot—capturing completed actions, while imparfait is more like a video, showing ongoing or habitual actions. Using everyday examples like “J’ai fini mes devoirs” (I finished my homework) or “Je lisais chaque soir” (I used to read every evening), I make these tenses practical and easy to understand. In math, I apply the same approach by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, layering in theory and real-life applications to build problem-solving skills progressively. My aim is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, exploring new concepts that are not taught in school, and refining their skills in math or French. Ultimately, I am dedicated to empowering my students to not just pass exams but to communicate confidently in French and tackle math challenges with ease, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need . Let’s embark on this learning journey together!

2nd year Master of Literature student, experienced in private lessons and specialized in French lessons for middle school students. I will be in Guildford in FEBRUARY 2025. About my classes: I take a positive but rigorous approach to classes and personal work. When learning French, it is effective to alternate between classes and conversations to improve learning. I mainly help my students to pass their French baccalaureate, and being in England for a month I offer classes to learn the French language and why not a bit of French culture and literature if the students are interested. My classes therefore include: learning to write and speak in French, more "relaxed" conversations to become more fluent, help with French lessons taken at school, etc. About my experience: I have been teaching for 4 years, and I have had about fifteen students of all levels and in all classes. Do not hesitate to ask me for the parents' contact details if you need an outside opinion. Regarding my level of English, I have a Cambridge certificate that I obtained in high school, and I am now very fluent and perfectly able to understand native English speakers. About me: I spent three years in preparatory classes, so I have an effective working method that allows me to progress and demonstrate rigor in my studies. I am currently doing a Master's degree in Literature with a view to passing the agrégation. I am 22 years old and I am a positive and cheerful person by nature. My goal is to become a teacher, so these courses will be an enriching experience for me! About my services and rates: I tend to favor 2-hour sessions because they are more effective. My rates not only include the lessons, but also my availability to answer questions, correct written work, organize mock exams, etc. outside of these hours. In order to improve student monitoring, I provide regular reports to parents. I am happy to travel if you live near me. Otherwise, videoconferencing works very well. Do not hesitate to contact me for any further information :)
