French experienced and qualified native tutor - learn, enjoy, share

French experienced and qualified native tutor - learn, enjoy, share

STRUCTURE OF THE LESSONS: I build my lessons through a communicative approach maximising the use of the target language. My lessons are usually task-based and centred around practical functions. During each lesson, we will always work on four different skills such as speaking, listening, reading and writing, using a great variety of teaching materials reflecting real-life situations. MY COURSES WILL AIM AT: – Improving your listening and conversation skills – Explaining grammar rules – Introducing new vocabulary using specific learning methods – Enhancing your writing, speaking and listening skills LANGUAGE: I have learnt English, Spanish and I am currently learning Italian and Russian, so I perfectly understand how it feels to learn a new language and the difficulties that one can come across, especially when that language isn't using the same alphabet as your mother tongue. EXPERIENCE: I have taught French to people from Europe, Commonwealth, Russia, Colombia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Maldives, South Africa, Syria, Lebanon, Algeria, Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and China, and among them, some were students, teachers, analysts, brokers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, singers, business owners, writers, actors, ambassadors, personal trainers, interior designers, architects, TV and movie producers... I am looking forward to hearing from you :) Sylvain

Sick of traditional lessons? Learn French the fun way!

Sick of traditional lessons? Learn French the fun way!

Hi! I offer private French lessons with a fun and engaging approach, tailored to your interests and learning style. Instead of rigid classroom structures, I focus on “edutainment” – learning while having fun! Since you already have some basics, we can explore various immersive methods: • Cooking a classic French dish while learning vocabulary • Discussing topics that interest you • Analyzing French songs, movies, or books (I often recommend Le Petit Prince – simple yet meaningful) • Practicing real-life conversations, including romantic phrases or modern slang (“largo”) • Learning typical French expressions and their English equivalents • Using creative tools like post-it notes, interactive exercises, and everyday scenarios Each lesson is designed to help you absorb grammar and conjugation naturally, making learning intuitive and enjoyable. My goal is to ensure you gain confidence in speaking and understanding French through practical, real-world usage. There are so many ways to learn—if you have specific preferences, we can explore them too! 🧒 I also offer French classes for children and toddlers, using playful and hands-on methods inspired by the Montessori approach. Through games, songs, sensory activities, and storytelling, little ones can discover the French language in a warm, nurturing environment that respects their rhythm and curiosity. 📍 Recommended frequency: At least 2 hours per week for steady progress – but this is flexible depending on your needs. 📍 Flexible scheduling: Available during the day or in the evening, as I’m a freelance journalist. I offer individual lessons, but we can also have group lessons. If you’d like to start, we can arrange a first session to assess your level and set up a learning plan that fits your goals. Let me know what works for you! Looking forward to helping you on your French journey! ☺️

School French, French for DELF exam, Math for School

School French, French for DELF exam, Math for School

Struggling to find a tutor who truly gets you and how you learn best? Let’s work together to discover strategies that match your interests and help you succeed! Hey! My name is Sophie, and I’m here to help you master French and math with ease and confidence. As an MSc Management and Strategy student at LSE and a graduate of a bilingual Russian-French school, have a deep grasp of these subjects, allowing me to tailor lessons to your unique needs. I’ve had the rewarding experience of teaching extracurricular French classes to middle and high school students at my former school, and I also have experience tutoring math. Whether you're aiming to boost your conversational skills, improve grammar, or strengthen math fundamentals, my blend of subject knowledge and teaching experience will guide you on your journey to success. My tutoring approach prioritizes patience, clarity, and a tailored teaching style that adapts to each student’s unique learning needs—whether in French or math. When tackling complex French grammar, like the distinction between passé composé and imparfait, I simplify concepts into relatable terms. For example, I liken passé composé to a snapshot—capturing completed actions, while imparfait is more like a video, showing ongoing or habitual actions. Using everyday examples like “J’ai fini mes devoirs” (I finished my homework) or “Je lisais chaque soir” (I used to read every evening), I make these tenses practical and easy to understand. In math, I apply the same approach by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps, layering in theory and real-life applications to build problem-solving skills progressively. My aim is to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, exploring new concepts that are not taught in school, and refining their skills in math or French. Ultimately, I am dedicated to empowering my students to not just pass exams but to communicate confidently in French and tackle math challenges with ease, equipping them with the tools and confidence they need . Let’s embark on this learning journey together!
