I specialized in contemporary music composition in Bucharest, Birmingham and Paris having finished with honors my Bachelor, my Master and my Doctorate degree in this field. I also have a pedagogical degree and 2 years of experience in which I taught music composition, musical forms, poliphony, orchestration, music theory and solfege at the National University of Music from Bucharest. In 2022 I finished a 2nd Master's Degree in Film Music Composition at the ZHdK. This class is for both beginners who want to compose music as a hobby and to aspiring professional composers. The main topic of my doctoral thesis was the compositional idea and the processes involved in the creative undertakings. How does one reach the final stage of a composition from just a few ideas? How can we improve this endeavour? What strategies and techniques are needed in order to do that? The class will be customized for each student so in order to achieve a certain objective in music composition the lessons can include elements of music theory, harmony, poliphony, orchestration, improvisation, music notation (Finale & Dorico) and music production (StudioOne). Although solfege and improvisation are extremely useful (I dare say even indispensable) for a professional composer, they can also be means to an end for passionate music lovers. Solfege and strategies that come with it can help your singing and music sight reading. And improvisation is such a fun and relaxing activity that I think everybody should do it!

Logic Pro X is an incredibly powerful application that puts pro audio quality recordings into the hands of amateur and hobbyist musicians and producers. I have used Logic Pro in professional contexts, recording and producing numerous recordings and have years of experience using this piece of software. I will explain the user interface (which can be daunting to new users,) in Logic and show how users can get the most out of this awesome piece of software in a relatively short time. This class would be useful for people who wish to learn to create and record their own music, music teachers who would like to expand their knowledge of music technology and apply it to the classroom and any other people for whom recording audio is a necessary component of their work.

It is important to me to respond to the specific wishes of the student. That means that you can show me what you're musically at right now. For example, this can be a song that you are writing. I will look at your compositions with you and give you feedback and tips. I will also show you different approaches to composing that can give you new ideas or are helpful if the writing process gets stuck. We look for inspiration in examples from music and try to explain our theories. I am stylistically very open and have experience from string quartet to pop songs (with pre-production on Ableton, Garageband etc.) to big band (notation on Sibelius). I just love the music and am happy to share my knowledge.

Hey there! My name is Dominic, and I'll be providing you with everything you need to reach your musical goals, whichever those may be. These lessons consist of piano tutoring, in which we can go over any style you may be interested in. I'll also be providing any sheet music and exercises you may need or I may think are necessary. I'm currently a piano and music theory teacher at AMT, which is an institution near my hometown. I've got a full 8 year music course (mostly focused on classical piano), which I successfully completed in 2025. I've also got a year of music teaching experience on my shoulders, as well as plenty of experience helping younglings and less experienced musicians with any difficulties they may have had over the years.
