I live in Madrid and I'm a student pursuing a higher degree in singing (jazz and contemporary music). I dedicate a good part of my time to teaching (music and language) through private online or in-person lessons. I started giving private lessons to children at their homes when I lived in Germany. During the 2022-2023 academic year, I taught piano to students of all ages at the RedMusik Music School (Igualada, Catalonia). I studied piano and other instruments for over 15 years at the UGDA and the Luxembourg City Conservatory. After many years of solfège and piano, I obtained the Conservatory's "Première Mention" certificate with the highest possible grade, "Très Bien". A good music lesson should include not only technique and reading sheet music, but also theoretical and harmonic study, improvisation, recreational playing with the instrument, and ear training and rhythm exercises. I am interested in designing the lesson creatively and adapting it to the needs and desires of the student. If you've been playing guitar for a while and want to improve your guitar skills, this is the class you should take! We'll cover advanced chord tensions, how to apply them, improvising over different chords, cadence, and minor, major, and modal contexts. We can also review how to build a melody with chords, which could be a bit more advanced. We will use the same materials as Berklee College of Music to guide our path through this beautiful process of discovering the guitar. I prefer to teach with the person physically present, both because it makes the student feel more comfortable, and so do I as the educator; however, if there's a problem, I think we could arrange for online teaching.
