Trusted teacher: Im Yong Zhi, a 2nd-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Imperial College London, with a strong academic background in mathematics and physical sciences. I achieved 4 A* grades at A-Level, including a Top In The World award for Mathematics, and I was awarded the Dean’s List in my first year at Imperial (top 5% of the cohort). I have over a year of online tutoring experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level Maths and Physics, as well as admissions-focused preparation for highly competitive exams such as ESAT and Oxbridge/Imperial entrance pathways. I was also a teaching assistant for first year students for my course. I was a lab assistant, teaching students safe and pragmatic lab practices so that they could learn how to use equipment and build circuits effectively. My approach focuses on building deep conceptual understanding alongside strong exam technique. I prioritise helping students become confident problem-solvers rather than relying on memorisation, and I tailor each session to the student’s specific weaknesses and exam goals. For exam preparation, I emphasise: Breaking down difficult topics into clear, structured steps Developing efficient problem-solving strategies under time pressure Targeted practice using past-paper style questions Improving accuracy, speed, and exam confidence Whether the goal is securing top GCSE/A-Level grades or preparing for competitive university admissions, I aim to provide structured, high-impact support that is focused on measurable improvement.

Trusted teacher: Tutoring for International Baccalaureate (IB) Maths AA HL/SL, Chemistry HL/SL, Physics HL/SL and for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) International Mathematics (0607), Additional Mathematics (0606), Physics (0625) Chemistry (0620). I aim to make sure students understand material intuitively first before delving into complicated questions and foster a friendly and patient learning environment. Instead of relying on memorising formulas, I teach students how to derive the formulas themselves, build upon their previous knowledge and use them to solve complex questions in a simple way, building their confidence in the process. To facilitate this, I use metaphors and every-day things to construct stories that help students remember concepts and relationships between them. My lessons are tailored to each student's needs, preferences and learning style so I am able to accommodate specific requests. I can help students work on improving both overall understanding of the subject as well as detailed and thorough understanding of specific topics/sub-topics. As someone who sat these exams myself, I know what the most common mistakes in each topic are, the best exam techniques and have lots of tips, tricks and resources I can share! I offer flexible scheduling, with availability during the day, early mornings, and late evenings for lessons online or in-person lessons near South Kensington. Please message me before booking so we can find a time that works for both of us! If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact me :)

Arnault - Chelsea£60
Trusted teacher: As the level of the courses increases over the years, taking advantage of a young student who has experience as a versatile private teacher is often a major asset to perform and then fly to great studies! First of all, when am I available? From September 2020, until 2023 if follow-up over several years is desired. What is my experience in private lessons? I have been giving private lessons for 5 years now. Throughout the last 3 years 2017-2020, I followed 2 students of the French Lycée Charles de Gaulle: a student from 5th to 3rd and a student from 2nd to 12th, at a rate of 2 and 3 hours per week respectively. I have pushed them both towards excellence, my students having averaged 20.5 and 18.7 on their patent and baccalaureate respectively. My final year student joined LSE for an excellent Bachelor in General Economics; and I had the opportunity to prepare him for this new stage by preparing him on certain prerequisite subjects of the Bachelor that the French program does not cover. I thus have a complete knowledge of the scientific programs from the 5th to the terminale, I am aware of the reform of the year 2020/2021, I was recently able to prepare students for the patent and the bac, and I know the systems leading to English universities as well as French preparatory classes. I also gave private lessons for 2 years in France, with high school students. I was also hired by Centrale Lyon for 1 year to tutor in physics for 1st year students. With the health crisis, between March and September 2020, I was also able to learn to take regular lessons by Skype while maintaining effective monitoring. Who am I? I am in September 2020/2021 in the 2nd year of my PhD at Imperial College London, working in biomechanics on a subject bringing together mathematics, chemistry, mechanical physics, computer science and biology. Initially, I come from a small provincial high school where I had my bac S in 2013 with the congratulations of the jury. I subsequently made preparations for Henri IV and Louis-Le-Grand in Paris. I have a double degree since 2019: Centrale Lyon in general engineering and Imperial College London for a master's degree in mechanics - civil engineering - biomechanics, for which I received the award of excellence. My current PhD takes me until 2023 on the South Kensington campus. And who am I as a teacher? - I am now 24 years old and my memories of my 13-17 years are still fresh: I understand most of the feelings of my students, feelings that I have known myself: stress, laziness, discouragement after a bad note, being overloaded with work and subjects ... I have always been on great terms with my students, which gives relaxed, funny and effective lessons, with confident students. - I'm honest and I like a job well done! I teach to help and get results, and I don't let go until it's done. - I am kind and very attentive: I keep abreast of the progress and results of my students, I encourage them and answer their questions by messages outside of class if they need it. What are my strengths? - I come out of a fresh experience with two students of different ages and characters, allowing me to adapt quickly, to quickly understand the difficulties (or the talent) and to adjust my teaching to each student. - Thanks to my 7 years of studies, I have a high level in the scientific subjects offered in secondary school, allowing me to give very clear and colorful explanations to help understanding. - My mother being a French teacher in high school, I have a good understanding of the teachers and how they work. - I train my students as much as I can to be rigorous in their working method, calculations and results reporting, with a view to good results but also to arrive in higher education with a solid background and working method . Do not hesitate to contact me, Looking forward to having once again the opportunity to make my students succeed in a good atmosphere, Wishing you a Happy New Year! Arnault
