Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry — University Teacher and PhD ResearcherTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I am a physicist and PhD researcher at the University of Geneva, with several years of experience teaching physics at university level and providing private tutoring in physics, mathematics and chemistry. My academic background includes degrees in Physics and Solid-State Physics, as well as a background in Industrial Chemistry. This allows me to teach science subjects from secondary-school level up to university courses, while adapting the level of explanation to each student. I can help with: * Physics: mechanics, electricity and magnetism, waves, optics, thermodynamics, modern physics and introductory quantum physics * Mathematics: algebra, functions, calculus, trigonometry, vectors and problem solving * Chemistry: general chemistry, physical chemistry and introductory university chemistry * IB, Maturity and international-school programmes * University physics and mathematics courses * Exam and mock-exam preparation * Revision of previous-year material * Homework, exercises and problem-solving techniques My approach is based on understanding rather than memorization. I first identify where the difficulty comes from, then rebuild the relevant concepts step by step before applying them to exercises and exam-style problems. Because I also teach university students, I place particular emphasis on developing a clear method: how to interpret a problem, identify the relevant physical principles, organize a calculation and check whether the final result makes sense. Lessons can be adapted either for students who are struggling and need to rebuild their foundations, or for stronger students preparing for demanding exams and advanced courses. I teach in English, French and Italian. Online lessons and in-person lessons in the Geneva area are available.

Inspiring and enthusiastic physics and maths tutor with 8 years of experience.Translate this text using Google Translate.

I have graduated with a degree in chemical engineering from the University of Edinburgh, UK. I am also an Erasmus Mundus scholar with a master's in Analytical Chemistry from Uppsala University. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in physical chemistry. I have been tutoring since 2012 to fund my education expenses. I formally began tutoring in 2014 as part of my vocational training as a teacher in Ghana, funded by the University of Edinburgh. The formal training has taught me a lot about curriculum development, time management, and fusing my teaching methodology to my students’ needs. I have been tutoring in Physics, Chemistry, and Math, in person and online; the hybrid model has allowed me to reach out and teach students in 8 different countries. I have successful students from these past nine years who have not only commended my work ethic but can also stand testament to my enthusiasm. My excellent academic career has nurtured in me a natural talent for teaching. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approach—paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the box—I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. My teaching methodology is based on two main things: skill development and adaptation. Initially, I create a skeleton of the most suitable methodology tailored to the preferred curriculum, after which, I adapt that lecture to the specific needs of the student based on their knowledge and grasp of the concepts. Second, I like to develop analytical and scientific ability along with knowledge in my students, and for that, I use a combination of resources in the form of worksheets, class tasks, and past papers. Last, I believe in the strong ethic of providing feedback to the parents, so that they are aware of their child’s progress. Frequently Asked Questions: Which subject(s) do you teach? I teach math, mechanics, statistics, chemistry and physics. I also teach biology up to GCSE level. When are you available? My timetable is quite flexible. I am happy to work weekdays, week evening and weekends. Which ages and levels do you teach? The majority of my students are between the ages of 10-18, but I also teach college Students. I am also helping foundation and first year university students. Which qualifications do you prepare your students for? GCSE, o-level, A/S-level, A-level, IB, School entrance exams and SATs Describe your arrangements for online tutoring? I use Zoom online sessions since it has many tools and features specially designed for interactive and visual learning. I am fully equipped with modern gadgets for e-learning. I use Google drive and docs to share files.

A passionate teacher for outstanding success My motto: "The more questions a student asks, the more they progress." I firmly believe that learning is a personal journey, and my role is to guide each student towards their full potential. My teaching approach is based on four fundamental pillars: 1. Availability and kindness: I listen to each student, attentive to their needs and difficulties. I foster a climate of trust and encouragement, where everyone can express themselves and progress at their own pace. 2. Motivation and self-improvement: I encourage the ambition of each student, regardless of their initial level. I help them set ambitious goals and develop the strategies necessary to achieve them. 3. Time management and results optimization: I teach effective study methods to maximize learning and success. I emphasize time management and revision planning. 4. Pedagogy of error and learning through experimentation: I encourage students not to be afraid of making mistakes, because it is by confronting them that they truly progress. I promote autonomy and the active search for solutions. =>Typical course structure: Course learning methodology Training on exercises Motivation and coaching Time management and point optimization Revision program 5 minutes per lesson to build rapport I dedicate time in each session to understanding the student's interests and building a relationship of trust. This time also helps to create a more relaxed atmosphere and promote learning. =>Practice tests for optimal preparation: I offer regular mock exams so that the student can get used to exam conditions and develop their autonomy. =>My ambition: the success of every student: I offer you 9 years of experience teaching mathematics, physics, chemistry, and computer science from primary to higher education levels. Mastering each stage of the learning process, I provide comprehensive and individualized support. =>A wide range of students supported: I have had the privilege of supporting hundreds of students of all levels and backgrounds, from struggling students to high-potential students. => Tangible results and a reputation for excellence: Last year, from the Matu to EPFL, not forgetting the preparatory classes for the French Baccalaureate, Polytechnique Paris, ENS Ulm and Paris-Saclay (formerly Cachan), 100% of my students passed their year. Anh really knows what he’s doing, not only he is expert in math, but as well excellent in his teaching technique. My son told me that he understood better and much easier with the technique taught by Anh. My son is junior school level, but wanting to learn bit advanced math compared to the topics he’s learning at school. He’s looking forward to having more learning with Anh and we booked immediately for 10 lessons.

I am very happy with the classes, I feel like he he helps a lot and is a very good teacher. He also provides with very good resources for the exam. I recommend Nicolas to anybody who is looking to go to DELFT or to have help in any of the subjects that he is teaching. to Overall very happy:)

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for your excellent teaching in physics. My daughter, who is in 5th secondary at a French school here in Belgium, has greatly benefited from your clear explanations and structured approach Thank you very much for all your hard work.
