Learn to understand the language of music!

We’ll work on the most important aspects of music theory and ear training which includes:

solfegio (sight-reading),
interval hearing and singing,
scales knowledge
note reading.

Singing “false” or otherwise, out of tune, is not only a matter of a vocal technique but very much your ability to hear, recognise and recreate tones and sounds.

By working on ear training you’ll improve your intonation and hearing abilities. All these are needed to sing in tune, improvise melodies, sing runs and riffs and harmonise melodies (create second voice) with ease.

Sight-reading will help you sing from notes which can prove helpful and useful when singing in a choir or working on a musical project where music sheets are in use.

Scales will help you in expanding your musicality and singing notes you would otherwise not find in the basic ABC of melodies. They open your ears to new sounds and unlock musical possibilities. They are helpful when wanting to create songs, interesting melodies and chords.

All these skills are compulsory for anyone wishing to enter higher music education. These lessons will prepare you for passing your theory exams as well as help you to become more understanding of musical rules.

About Me

I’m Dominika – a singer, musician and vocal coach. I began my journey with music a long time ago in Poland, when I was still a child. Then, after moving to The Netherlands 10 years ago I got accepted to study jazz singing at The Royal Conservatory of Den Hague and since then I’ve been professionally working within the music industry. I’ve been teaching at several music schools in The Netherlands in Dutch, Polish and English, and been expanding my knowledge by following singing courses and training. Besides doing music, I’m a co-founder of an English speaking musical theater company in Amsterdam, Happily Ever After Productions, where I combine my passion for theater, acting, dancing and music while working as a performer, music and artistic director.

My passion for teaching singing sprang up after my vocal injury a few years back. It forced me to fully examine my vocal technique and habits. I had to relearn everything I knew about singing to make sure I could use my voice for many years to come. It was an amazing experience that opened my eyes on all the vocal issues we face as students, singers and music lovers. This led me to create my own teaching practise and help others learn to use their voice in the best way possible. If you have vocal problems, I most definitely experienced them myself as well: loss of high/low notes, breathy sound, tension, strained voice, hoarseness after singing, lack of support, closed throat and many more – we can work on it all and I know it’s possible because I did it too!

Singing lessons and vocal technique - learn to understand and master your voice!

During my singing lessons we’ll focus on your vocal technique to increase your vocal range, build vocal strength and stamina, improve your breathing and gain control over your instrument . We’ll work on multiple musical and vocal styles, sing high and low notes with ease, and most importantly, we’ll focus on finding your own voice while having fun doing it.

All you need for these lessons is passion for singing and a song of your choice. During the first lesson we’ll discuss your goals and wishes and have a little try at a few vocal exercises. Next, we’ll work on the song of your choice with the focus on the things you’d like to improve. After the lesson you’ll receive a little summary of your strengths, focus points and a plan with how we’ll work to achieve your goals. There will always be a small homework or exercise you’ll need to work on at home to help you achieve what we planned.

All levels are welcome, from beginners to advanced!

Do you like singing? Or do you walk around with songs in your head all day? Then take singing lessons with Deborah online or in Amstelveen Westwijk. We sing songs from different countries and times. We will also work on different rhythms, notes and tone exercises.

If you are busy singing you can even have a completely different feeling and you can ensure that you have extra energy for the rest of the day.

Your body is your instrument when singing. We try to make that instrument sound as beautiful as possible..

During the singing lessons we also work on articulation, the pronunciation of foreign languages and also on the meaning of and your feelings about a particular piece. I would like to teach you to play the piano from relaxation. Because the most important thing in music is not in the notes.
In addition to regular lessons, I offer inspiring lesson packages. These packages consist of 5 reads with a specific theme. A few examples: learn to make a song, Beatles songs, play blues, improvise, learn to guide yourself, learn to support your child in his or her music lesson and seasonal songs. If you are interested in a different theme, that is of course also possible.

Learning to play the guitar can be an amazing experience at every stage of the process! My ultimate goal is to help my students to develop their skills and musical understanding by learning and playing music that they like.

Currently, I am studying Composition at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

I have been playing guitar for more than 15 years and I have participated in music bands and live shows.

I am also working on electronic music through my laptop and hardware devices (synths, drum machines, etc)

I would be happy to teach you how to play the guitar, music theory tips, and some basic production skills!

In the beginning, we will work on your favorite songs. At some point, you will be able to make your songs and you will have the opportunity to record your ideas and share them with the public!

The lessons will delve into both the technical and musical aspects of piano playing, theory, reading music, harmony, ear training, technique, pedagogy and more. My aim is to equip students to understand different music styles, build confidence, discover their unique voice and continue their musical journey independently. As Thelonious Monk said, the piano ain’t got no wrong notes.

I'm passionate about traversing genres since I have studied both jazz and classical to a high level, making this class perfect for creative pianists and composers who want to go beyond reading music off a piece of paper. Trinity/ABRSM curriculum upto Grade 8, can also be optionally included. Teaching effective practice methods is a priority, ensuring students progress confidently and without leaning on me. Please note, I only teach in person to maintain high standards of guidance in technique. This is not possible via video conferencing. Since everyone asks: yes, I did study at Berklee College of Music as an undergraduate for some time, and I do help students out with their audition preparation for various music colleges!

Currently, my students are between 14 and 74 years old— I believe that it’s never too late or too early to begin your musical journey. I look forward to your requests and have two vacant spots remaining in my roster for Winter 2025. Book now!

Eyal has taught hundreds of students over the past 15 years, both guitar and piano next to music theory and composition. Besides his formal music education (a bachelor's in composition, a teaching degree from the music academy in Jerusalem, and a master's in composition from Codarts, Rotterdam), Eyal has acquired experience in a wide range of various musical styles, including Rock, Blues, Jazz, classical music, electronic music, and contemporary music, on which he bases his rich approach which can be adjusted to every student separately.

I am Dimitrios, I am a greek professional guitarist. I graduated with a masters degree in Jazz guitar from Conservatorium van Amsterdam and also studied in the UK conservatory of Leeds.
As a musician my primary focus is jazz music but I also often play other styles like soul, Rnb and more.
So far in my teaching career I have had experience with many different ages, from 7 to 40 years old and I think I have managed to pass on to them some of my passion for music.

Whether you want to learn to play your favourite tunes, learn to improvise or get some in depth knowledge about music theory and harmony we can work out a suited lesson plan for you. Happy to teach any level and any style from rock to jazz and electric or acoustic guitar.

I am a student at the Conservatory of Amsterdam for classical guitar. I also have a lot of experience with Jazz and Pop. My lessons are purely focused on the wishes and needs of the student. I adapt to them and guide the student to achieve his/her goals.

There are 2 parts we can work on: Technique and real pieces. As a guideline we can learn pieces that I can choose for the student (or if the student has a special request for a piece that is always welcome!). And if something doesn't work out well we can focus on the technique and improve it before we continue. That way it always stays educational and fun!

In this class, you’ll receive individualized coaching on the structure of your practice time, as well as practice strategies to boost learning.
