Hello! My name is Aurel and I am a French Amsterdam-based drummer. Although currently specialized in Jazz music, I have studied various esthetics, and Pop and Rock music, in particular, are part of my background (I played in several pop-rock bands). Therefore I am able to teach a broad panel of music styles. I also have many drum methods and charts at my disposal, and have experience in teaching children from the age of 6, as well as teenagers and adults. Lessons and teaching method: I always adapt to the student's tastes and learning profiles. This is why, during the first lesson, and on a regular basis afterwards, I always take time to discuss with my students (or their parents if they are very young) to figure out together the path they want or need to follow. I will use charts and methods for those who need visual support to assimilate the skills or teach by ear and by demonstrating to the ones who feel more comfortable this way. I also play electric guitar and can jam with my students, which is a great tool for developing band playing skills or simply to have a good time. For those eager to make significant progress, I offer consistent and serious monitoring, with practice recommendations. I can for instance prepare a student for an audition or an entrance exam in a conservatory. If you are willing to improve your understanding of rhythm in general, you can also benefit from my knowledge of Indian Karnatic rhythm concepts, one of the most complete traditional approaches to rhythm. Students who simply want to learn at their pace, to have fun and unwind, are definitely welcome too! About me: In addition to my jazz drums bachelor and master degrees from the conservatory of Amsterdam (CvA), which included a thorough pedagogical training and a specialization in Indian Karnatic techniques, I benefit from 4 years of experience as an employed drum teacher in two French associative music schools (Ecole de musique de Nangis and Conservatoire des Deux Rives, Moret-sur-Loing). I am also an active musician, both on the Dutch and the French scene. My trio mainly tours in France and has played at venues such as the Sunside (Paris), or participated in competitions like the Keep An Eye International Jazz Award. I am also the co-leader of the sextet Chai Masters, finalist of several European competitions (Leiden Jazz Award, Golden Jazz Trophy in Lille, France, 7 Virtual Jazz Contest). Recently, the band was part of Keep An Eye The Records's finalists (March 2022). Its first album "Magic Realism" received critical acclaim in France, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. I am specialized in teaching adults the cello. Adults learn much faster then children, you will be surprised how quickly you are able to play your first song. If you do not have a cello yet; I do. The lessons are full hour lessons and given in a nice studio in the Amsterdam Houthavens, with floor cooling and heating. We play duets from your first lesson and I accompany you on the piano. I also host cello weekends and workshops, from beginners on to advanced players. Since I rent out cello's you are able to rent the correct size. I also sell beautiful old and new cellos.

My name is Andrius and I am a professional saxophonist and educator. I’ve been living, studying and giving lessons in Amsterdam for more than 6 years. My name is Paolo, I’m an Italian pianist and composer. My musical life started when I was 9, moved by a bit of curiosity I put on a classical music CD, the speakers played Chopin’s 1st Ballade and that was the first time I had goose bumps listening to a music piece. This experience was so strong that I wanted to recreate that feeling, so I started to study piano. The instrument is really good for a first approach to the music; after a little while, with lessons and practice, it’s possibile to play a very simple composition with a great satisfaction. Through out the years I faced many obstacles, especially technical difficulties. I had great teachers who helped me to know and understand the instrument, they also taught me to love the music I was playing without shame for mistakes. Like in sports you need to train yourself, learn movements and adjust coordination, but it’s also very important to love what you are doing and be passionate about it. This is what you will learn with me, in a friendly and relaxed environment. I studied in Brescia, Milano and Amsterdam. My main fields were piano, chamber music and composition. I have taught piano and music theory during my time in Italy, currently I perform mainly in The Netherlands.

About me? I’m Luso-american musician who moved to Amsterdam to study jazz trumpet at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where I’m currently finishing my bachelor degree. I started playing the trumpet when I was 9 years old, and since then my passion for music just kept on growing bigger. My main focus as a jazz musician was big band playing, where I’m specialised in lead trumpet playing, however I kept myself open to different styles being part of Afrobeat bands, playing in small formations, such as trios or just playing some groovin’ music from Earth Wind & Fire or Kool & The Gang.

These lessons are for young and/or inexperienced singers. My lesson plans are tailored towards students' individual goals. For some, this may be learning and embodying an audition song for their school's upcoming theater performance, and for others voice lessons are a first step towards singing healthily in their church choir. In any case, I focus on correcting and building core skills necessary to singing one's best while encouraging and fostering creativity, accountability, and motivation. If considered for a long-term journey towards singing, I will focus particularly on classical techniques to build steady breath control, good posture, and proper vowel and consonant formation. Along with providing repertoire, if the student is ready and wants, there will be opportunities for vocal performance in the Santa Cruz area. I will encourage audio recordings in all lessons to help with future preparations. I will be assigning some homework after every lesson, likely a combination of vocalization exercises, dedicated sheet music practice, and theory homework (if needed). *My first lesson will involve getting to know the student, their goals, and some vocalization to assess vocal level. For singers with minimal/no prior foundational music theory knowledge, I may recommend time from lessons (15-30 minutes) being allocated solely towards foundational music theory learning.
