The album, nominated for the Edison Jazz Award 2024, was presented in Europe and India, including performances in Mumbai, Goa, and Bangalore. In July 2024, the group performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival with
Jeremy Pelt as a special guest. Later that year, they released their second album, Forward! (2024, Cellar Live). Their third studio album, recently recorded with Jeremy Pelt, is set for release in the Fall 2025.
In January 2025, Joan released his first album as a leader, So Far, So Good (Fresh Sound Records), which was showcased during a European tour in May 2025, covering Germany, Spain, Poland, the UK, the Netherlands, and France, with jazz icon Vincent Herring on alto saxophone as a special guest. His upcoming second album as leader, Hangin’ In, was recorded in New York with an all-star lineup including Grant Stewart, Michael Weiss, David Wong, Aaron Kimmel, and
rising tenor saxophonist Daniel Cohen as a special guest. Besides, he's just recorded another album with his trio and Vincent Herring which will be released next year 2026.

"I have been a student of Joan's for about 5 months, during which I have improved greatly. Joan is very knowledgeable and is able to convey this in a fun and efficient way. He pushes me to improve with homework exercises for music theory, technique , and ear training and he is always available to provide tips if needed
him as a teacher!" - Jasper Kooij, current student.
"My experience with Joan was great. He discovered to me a new musical genre (jazz) and he taught me techniques to study it. He is very attentive and there is no problem if you don't get or understand something because he finds a way to explain it again for you to understand it.He is original and makes you participate a lot, for example, he plays the double bass and you play the guitar. This makes you directly feel you are making real music, instead of only studying it. It's obvious that he loves and enjoys teaching. I recommend him a lot, he's very close and an excellent guitar teacher." -Andrea Cayuela, ex-student of Joan in Barcelona.
"Joan is a master, a first-level jazz guitarist with a deep comprehension of the music. He knows exactly how to turn you into a better musician and guides you easily through the learning process with his pedagogical skills. Pure gold!" - Pau Sotelo, ex-student from Madrid.
"Great musician and teacher, with clear musical references to the jazz giants. He teaches you to listen and analyze the music paying attention to the deepest point. You can tell he's had great teachers and he proves it in his lessons." - Chema Marcos, ex-student in Tarragona.
