About Me

Hey! I am 28 years old and graduated in jazz saxophone from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp.

Before that I studied for five years at KU Leuven where I graduated as a physicist with a specialization in theoretical and mathematical physics.

Cello Lessons for all levels:
My main goal with my teaching is to share my passion for music with my students. I believe strongly that this passion leads to discipline and curiosity which benefit all other aspects of one's life. Whether or not my students decide to pursue music as their main profession, I believe they have much to gain from learning the cello. Besides the discipline one learns, Music-making in itself is fulfilling!! :)

Conservatory Preparation:
In my experience as a musician living and working in Belgium for the past 9 years, I have noticed a gap in the musical education of young Belgian music students transitioning from Music academies into Conservatories. Oftentimes, these young music students seeking to enter conservatories do not possess the necessary skill level to enter higher education in Music. Through my private teaching, I intend to bridge this gap by catering specifically (though not exclusively) to these students. I strongly believe that there is a huge demand for this type of teaching which I am capable of providing.

I am Cèlia, a Catalan cellist living in Antwerp. I studied for my bachelor's degree at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium and my master's degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen.

I offer private bass lessons to beginners and intermediates who would like to have a deeper understanding of harmony and and music theory. Alongside it, we cover technique over the bass guitar with reference to method books on the subject matter. I prepare weekly exercises using a variety of bass method books as well as basslines taken from songs of our choosing. The weight of music theory, harmony and ear training within what we cover can be rearranged according to the needs and expectations of the student.

As an experienced music theory tutor and professional pianist, I use a curriculum established by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in the UK to guide students from grades 1-8 (beginning up to early-advanced levels) towards mastery of music theory. We can start from the beginning and work your way up, or find a suitable level based on prior knowledge. My students regularly achieve highest marks in the ABRSM exams following this system. I am a graduate of the Antwerp Conservatory of Music and have been playing the cello for 20 years. Despite my young age, since 2012, after winning many auditions, I have played in orchestral projects in 18 European countries. I regularly participated in music courses and workshops.
Currently, I work as a freelancer and am an active concert musician and private teacher.
