My name is Pia. I am a singer, songwriter, actress and voice teacher. I teach singing classes and vocal techniques to speak better in public. Our voice is a complex instrument that is directly connected to the state of the body and mind, and therefore many different aspects are touched on in vocal work. But that does not mean that it has to be difficult to educate your voice in different ways! As in all types of educational process, as long as there is desire and patience, the objectives can be achieved. We will develop the classes according to the particular needs of each student. We will work on the following aspects in voice training: - breathing - relaxation - body awareness - warming of the body and mouth - vocalization - projection - tuning - tessitura extension - rhythmic perception - diction in several languages (especially in English, Spanish, German and Scandinavian languages) - interpretation More about me: I am Danish, living in Barcelona since 2001. I studied theater acting at the Victor Hernando Studio Theater and modern music and jazz with singing as a specialty at the Liceo Conservatory. I have a long professional career in the world of music and theater. Since 2008, I combine my artistic career with the profession of voice teacher and as a vocal supervisor in stage work.

I have a Higher Degree in singing. The objective of my classes is for the student to find their own voice and know how to get the best out of it, while being able to sing with maximum comfort and in a healthy way. In my classes I propose to start with breathing exercises and vocalizations to warm up the voice and practice different aspects in isolation. Afterwards, the class focuses on working on a repertoire that motivates the student, that is appropriate for their voice and also helps them improve their abilities.

Learn to play the trombone in a fast and fun way, going through the different styles (classical, jazz, funk, reggae, pop,...) that forged the status of this versatile instrument with a lot of potential. I organize my classes in 4 blocks: warm-up ("warm-up"), technique, improvisation and interpretation (which includes reading, solo and transcription of the teachers).

I am currently teaching piano as an experienced pianist with 25 years of piano experience, who has a title from the international music competition 'Jugendmusiziert' (competition for Deutsche Schule students in the world), a diploma from the piano program of the Istanbul Conservatory (Ispirtohane) and from the London College of Music with 8 grades in solo piano and music theory. Important: Please send me a message before booking a lesson if you would like to have a Spanish lesson (I am not a native speaker) I speak Turkish, English and German very well, and I am currently improving my Spanish as well. I already give lessons to my younger students in Spanish, if I feel that the communication is good enough. But I can also help English, German and Turkish speaking students with conservatory exams, Royal Academy / London College of Music exams, learning music theory, harmony, improving technique or preparing a repertoire. I used to work at a school called Opus Music School in Istanbul, which is licensed for LCM exams, with students of various ages, preparing them for the exams. I have a self-developed teaching methodology, which helps students improve their skills along with knowledge of music theory and music history, which I believe is essential for classical piano education. From reading notes and understanding classical music mathematics to conservatory exams or preparing classical repertoire, I would be happy to share this adventure with you in English, German, Spanish or Turkish! Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.
