About Me

My name is Raúl, I'm 30 years old and I'm from Gran Canaria. I've been living in Barcelona for over four and a half years, and one of the things that motivates me most is helping other people improve their English and overcome their fear of using it in real life.

My relationship with languages stems largely from my experience living abroad. I studied music performance, which allowed me to live for four years in countries like Slovenia, Belgium, and the Netherlands. These experiences taught me something very important: we all make mistakes when speaking a language, even our native tongue. We shouldn't be afraid of making mistakes, because it's from these mistakes that we learn the most.

My certified English level is C1 from Cambridge, and thanks to this, I've been able to help my students by drawing on my own academic experiences and my time abroad. My goal as a teacher is for students to understand the language, gain confidence in speaking, and be able to comprehend texts and audio adapted to their level.

I am a friendly, patient teacher who is very focused on each student's needs. I believe that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my classes to each student's goals and requirements. Many students feel stuck with English because they have learned it in a very theoretical way, using an outdated system. That's why I try to make my classes practical, dynamic, and geared towards learning the specific areas the student wants to improve.

My classes are designed for all types of students. The main goal is always to help and guide students so they can become self-sufficient and confident in any situation, speaking and practicing English. I've had all kinds of students: students who need support with their school English; people who want to improve their speaking skills and overcome their fear of speaking; and adults who want to better understand the language and use it with more confidence. The important thing is that students leave happy and eager to continue learning such a beautiful language as English.
